Thanks to Pastor Sam! The closest thing to a saint this town has ever seen. Thanks for trying to change our little corner of the world.

I am a regular visitor of the store. It's a great place, and the folks are so polite. They are the only place I will take my donations from now on. Atleast I know that what I've given will help our community and is not used for profit. I visited the Goodwill out by Krogers once after they opened, and was not impressed, you could buy the items new at Walmart for the prices they are asking.

yeah i agree this is a good store if the donations would be used right a family member of mine goes alot and he says almosst all the workers like everyone except pastor sam goes through the donations and keeps what they want and sets out the things that they dont want to keep for their friends and family ....ive seen the little girl dresses be put back several times for one little girl so the other kids have no chance ...is that fair? and a friend of mine got charged 30 bucks for a toy ? is that fair ? i dont think so ...and I myself have donated alot of clothes and baby items and the next day none of the stuff was out im guessing the workers took every nice thing to someone they wanted to have it...they are like voltures as soon as a donation comes in they run to the back and wont let any customers touch anything until they look through it and pick what they want ..and if theres something like a skull on a kids shirt that they think is evil or offensive they throw it away and if someone else speaks up and wants it they are not aloud to have it ...the store would rather throw it in the trash than a little boy have it on his back......pastor sam is the only one that doesnt jack prices and hoard donated items....i am not going to donate any more unless it goes to pastor sams hands first that way ill be helping the community instead of the workers onlyy or the workers favorite customers and i know several people that quit going and agree with this

First let me clarify that i'm a volunteer at The Good Samaritan Store!!! "Just Me" you should'nt get on here and bash the people there. However if you feel or see something that you think is wrong you should go talk to Pastor Sam. Let me also inform you as to why you think things are'nt being put out. We have a very huge storage room full of things that need to be put out. It's not easy for us to just put the donated items out right away. We go through every single item to make sure that its fit for someone else to wear. Don't you think that needs to be done? There's also quite alot of people that volunteer there and it's alot of people there that does'nt keep items or put them up for our family members. Why don't you come and volunteer your time and see exactly what we do instead of going by hearsay. then you'll see we are honest people and we care about everyone that comes there. Last of all $30.00 for a toy????I really doubt that. It's not about making money either it's about showing the love of Jesus Christ and making a difference in everyones lives and being a blessing to many many people. We're truly blessed by every person that comes in those doors no matter if they buy something or if we give it to them.

well im sorry that you feel that way heres an idea if your not finding what you you need instead of getting on topix about it why dont you post on the yardsale on facebook since you have internet because im sure if someone was in need alot of people would help find some clothes for the kids i know i would and you never know i might have some you need i have 3 girls so why not try that instead of bashing them at the store

yes 30 dollars was charged for a larger toy but i do not care what u believe and also you can make excuses for the way u take thingss and keep them for one child and you can make excuses as to why pastor sam is the only one with low prices that gives other people chances at buying the stuff but inside i know what a true christian is and i think pastor sam is the only one not being greedy at that store you only volunteer so u can take what u want and none of your excuses is gonna change my mind theres also several people in your store that come in and say that the workers take what they want or give items to who they want ...but i am the only person that is going to say something but i can guarantee that i have donated tons of stuff to your store and next time i have donations id rather sit them outside in my front yard with free on them so atleast i know the poor kids in this town are going to get a chance at having clothes and not just one or two kids you favor by the way what about the workers that see 1 item on the floor then when they notice its there they say it shouldnt be there they go put it in their car ? is it becuz that item needs to be inspected too? yeah right most of the time it gets resold at a yard sale for alot more....oh and lol yes i have internet and no im acctually not in need i donate to the store ive maybe bought something their a few times for a neice of mine but im making this point cuz someone that lives with me is a regular and he is the one that was wanting things for his grandchildren and several of his friends

Ok "Just Me". I pray that you'll realize that I'm one fo the people that does give people low prices as well. I truly wish that you Would go talk to Pastor Sam about whatever issue you have with whomever is putting things away for this little girl you continue to speak about. Also PLEASE don't bash The Good Samaritan Center. You obviously have a problem with someone there so just pray about that situation and if you know Pastor Sam you know he's always available to talk to. Be sure to specify when this is taking place as well so the situation can be taken care of. I am in no way making any excuses about taking any thing and putting it away for any one individual. I'm not the person that you're speaking of and again i invite you to come and volunteer to see exactly how thigns are done. I also will not respond to anymore negativity about this topic.God bless you. And I AM A TRUE CHRISTIAN !!!!!!

i must say i think this whol etopix page is trashy and just a place for anyone to complain. this store is a charity store i personally donate all my kids clothing and sum of my own there sum name brand sum not i dont worry about rather or not it gets put on a shelf hung up or anything liek that i dont have use for it any longer so i give it somewhere where hopefully whoever can use it rather it be a worker or someone who comes in the store. i hope u realize just cause people volunteer in this store doesnt mean then have it made or maybe they just know people who cant even afford to get to the store so the do put aside the good things that come in to take to someone in need theirselves. it is not up to anyone to judge what is going on anywhere more less a christian store!!!!! either way how about instead of wasting time on topix, facebook, or any other page u can trash people trying to do good u go out there in the world and make a difference yourselves instead of becoming part of the problem.

I have heard from many people that they do keep the good donated stuff for themselves and their familys. Its sad everyone deserves a chance to have nice stuff. I understand they are not rich and need things too. But the stuff donated to the place should be for the community also to look through not just the people who volunteer there. I use to donate stuff there all the time but so many people kept coming to me saying none of the stuff I donated was going to the community it was all going to the volunteers. I donated very nice stuff and I don't think its right. I now donate my stuff to the goodwill in beckley.

I have attended Spirit & Truth Ministries many times & have actually worn skull shirts there. Alot of the kids would carry purses with skulls, ppl there had skull tattoos. Not one member of the congregation looked down on me or anyone else for that. I highly doubt they would throw it away. They do not judge or define someone because of their clothes. That is the way it should be. Alot of the churches around here wouldn't welcome you unless you had tons of money for fancy clothes.

the only complaints that cld be posted here that is the truth and seen by everyone no body wants to post but what i see is wrong is when people drop things off to donate. you see someone else pull up in new vechiles n load what they want and carry it away for yard sales or ect. who knows but if u can afford new vechiles n dress in name brand clothing then y do u need to steal from the churches and this is exactly what u see. the police they just look at u n drive on by,but if it was the goodwill they'd b arrested. now this is sad.. and for all the bashing well its just another way the devil tries to defeat the good in the community..
