I like Brian's, too. Out of all of them, he seems to be the most honest and reasonable, but you have to make an appointment a lot of times, because he gets so busy, which is a good sign of how good he is.

Toney's is alright, but I don't like that guy they got working in front. I think his name is Frank. He comes across as a douchebag sometimes.

I won't give Prudence my business again.. EVER! Those clowns tried to sucker me into $2000 worth of work my vehicle didn't need.

I've heard bad things about those guys out City Wrecker that work on cars. They even still open?

In my opinion, Toney's is sloppy and unprofessional. I don't think they have any really competent mechanics that can do much more than change tires.

As others have said, you can trust Brian's Service Center and you'll find his prices affordable and reasonable. Brian is at work every day in his shop and you'll be able to talk to him directly.

toney is pretty good if u good if u need tires they have the best prices.

wobo is a joke they give you a estimate on repairs to discover that was never the problem

prudence service is a bad idea they have broke more then they fix..they are know for your wherls falling off after repairs..most of there mechanics are druggies or drunks

i have heard brian is good my next venure on car repair will either be there or davis..

There is no GOOD garage in Oak Hill anymore. Used to be Brian's but now that he doesn't do most of the work the quality suffers.

I think the question shoud be what is the most fair priced, less likely to fix things that aren't broke, semi competent garage in the area?

Wobos - Haven't been there but have heard a lot of negative things. Had a buddy go there for something simple to repair and they very clearly screwed him over.

C. Adams - I usually go here but for the past few months it hard to get a vehicle worked on because they say their down a mechanic. WELL THEN HIRE A MECHANIC!! I know I'm not the only person they been using this excuse on. Their mechanics aren't very well-rounded.

Brian's - They do great work. He's higher priced than C. Adams. Wish he would renovate his business some and make it more presentable. The place is falling apart and filthy. He would do more business if it was more presentable. Unfortunately it shows the attitude of most business owners in the area. Want to run a business but won't make it presentable or stand out from the competition.

Brian does not own the building. He rents it. I know Brian pretty well and I know it's a struggle for him to get the owner to make necessary repairs. The roof leaks and the owner needs to replace the entire roof.
Concerning your remark that he would do more business if his business was more presentable... Brian is booked everyday. He can't handle any more business. Brian is a great mechanic and he has a successful business. He works extremely hard and is worthy of his success and the good reputation he enjoys.

...and his shop is NOT FILTHY!

If you insist on going to a clean and presentable shop, then go to Davis Tire!... but of course, you'll have to have a high tolerance for dealing with the obnoxious, rude, arrogant Dinky Davis.

hmmm... I wonder why Brian's Service Center does more mechanical work than Davis Tire?

Your obviously a friend or family member of his. I'm aware his business is successful and does great work(as I stated before).

If you don't think he could do more business then your blind. I went in there about 2 weeks ago and they didn't have but one car in the shop. If he had more business then he could hire more people and expand. There is always room for expansion.

Your attitude reflects that of most people in West Virginia. Which is why the state struggles with actual good jobs. The attitude that a business does not have to be presentable and strive to have a good appearance to the public is why most businesses struggle within the state.

Go to a large city with a thriving economy and business owners don't have that attitude.

I like Brian's, but I agree that his shop could use some renovations and that would probably lead to more business for him. Out of everyone I've dealt with, Brian seems to be the most honest and he has impressed me with his knowledge. His price seems fair.

One thing I've noticed with ALL of the mechanics in our area is that if you go to their shop thinking you already know the problem, that's the problem they'll try to fix. If you're not 1000% sure what the problem is, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT and let them figure out the problem themselves. Otherwise, you're going to be spending a lot more money playing a guessing game.
