Wow... For somebody who has a problem with authority figures, you sure do like to flex your muscles. I would bet that i have contributed more to charities than the two of you dirtbags. You liberals are good at giving away other peoples money for your "starving children". Heres a thought... Stop breeding and living like rats and there wont be so many starving children. But no... You liberals want everybody living at the same standard... Whats the dif between mexico and california? The shethole country doesnt have 50 other states to carry its azz like the liberal scum of california does. Isnt cali just about all democrat? A real liberal utopia? I know me is a stupid redneck, but i thought you godless animals had the run of that state and some other places... Like shitcago. I'm not mad... I love your immoral spew. And whats really funny... You smart animals think nobody cares. I love it! Hope Joe does too!

It's not so much that nobody cares as it is that nobody cares what it is you try to say. Emphasis on the word "try" because nobody is ever quite sure what you are talking about.

Republicans are much more generous than democrats. However, an ignorant liberal base can be told and will believe anything. Like you said, liberals are very generous with republican money.

It doesn't count as generous if you're crying about it while you feed a hungry kid or give them healthcare when they're sick . And again, it's the red states with the big welfare and huge teenage pregnancy problems, not the blue ones. But then again, you still teach abstinence education and that a billion years of evolution happened in about a week. I don't have kids or collect welfare, but hey, if you actually knew about people before you judged them, you wouldn't be Christians.

Of course you are more generous. Hell, you give away a lot of your wages in the form of taxes so that rich people don't have to pay as much.

Generous, but stupid.

Ok Lionel Caffey, just so you understand, Matthews, Sharpton and Maddow are COMMENTARY. Say it with me. COMMENTARY. Nobody considers it news. Now, when Glenn Beck and Hannity tell you guys they're coming to get your guns, what do you do? Go buy them in record numbers. Wow. Just f_cking WOW.
While limitations are needed re: guns and the need to register them, one must admit that government has a track record of shipping away with new laws, regulations, restrictions, etc. Once they put laws on the books, its just a matter of time until intrusion from big government will be telling us what kind of ammo or how much. And next will be amending existing or soon to be existing laws that limits gun ownership from felons to anyone with any domestic arrest, neighborhood disturbance, failure to pay a damn parking ticket, etc. This is the type of big government socialists wanted and this is the type of big government they got. Enjoy. The track record speaks for itself. It governs all aspects of our lives. I'd rather a conservative steal my damn money than a democrat steal my damn freedom.

That's ridiculous. Guns have been regulated since they were invented. That's even what the second says - "well regulated." The slippery slope isn't an excuse to pretend 11,000 gun murders will go away on their own. It's impossible to take your guns. Don't be stupid. No one even wants them. We can enact laws or we can go with the good guy's draw versus bad guy's. That's even dumber. For Christ's sake you idiot gunnuts actually wanted to but idiot NRA rednecks in our elementary schools. Thankfully, no one else is that stupid.

And it's the republicans that have stripped your freedom. The Patriot Act was the worst infringment on civil rights in the history of our country. When the war criminal traded our freedom for his security, I started emailing myself a copy of the constitution every morning hoping they'd see what it says.

Now I know that you are a liar. My wife is a right wing extremist. I sound like one of your (right Doggy?) boys compared to her. But if she was there (right Doggy?) that does explain a lot, I wondered why you don't have any balls. Maybe another reason why you haven't pro-created?

You know, I've been thinking a lot about this lately. At last count, there are something like 20,000 gun laws on the books (don't know this for a fact, but I heard it and I haven't taken the time to look into it), but clearly, they aren't accomplishing the goal we intended for them to.

I don't think there is going to be an easy answer, but maybe the laws should concentrate more on the people who used guns than on guns themselves. After all, there are way more responsible gun owners than irresponsible ones.

Despite the fact that I vote democratic these days, I have a real hard time with gun laws becuase I just don't think they work. Law-abiding citizens will abide by the laws, but criminals won't (that's why we call them criminals). I was for expanded background checks and not even totally opposed to limiting the number of rounds a gun can hold (although, if done correctly, six rounds is more than enough to make someone a mass murderer).

I think in the end, it is going to be reasonable people sitting down to have an adult discussion about it. Not politicians from either side. Not the NRA and not the people who think we should be like England (no guns).

I don't want to limit anyone's right to own a gun, but I must admit, the carnage is starting to get to me.

Im not an idiot nor a gun owner. Im just sick of big government. Give them an excuse and they chip away at our rights with excessive laws, rules, regulations, etc. And thats with having gun rights. Can you imagine how despotic it will become if they can begin to chip away even further our 2nd amendment rights. This isnt paranoia on my part, this is history of american government, the worlds police force.

I concur. The only way to keep guns out of criminals hands is to enact laws forbidding gun sales at flea markets , individual sales from one person to another, etc. How does one enforce this? Make it illegal to do so. All sales should have to go before a local magistrate if they have to create a new position or division in the local courthouse to do so. Anyone caught with someone elses registered gun than both would be arrested for first offense misdemeanor, 2nd offense being a felony. If a crime is commited with a gun thats found to have been sold without de-registeration through the courthouse than that person who sold the gun would be charged with aiding and abetting in the commision of that crime. If this doesnt encourage responsible gun owners or dealers to abide by these new laws than they deserve jail time.

I like the idea of putting the onus on the individual rather than the gun. Crimes committed with guns--burglary, home invasion, etc, fall under some sort of automatic sentencing guide-lines. No parole or early release.

I know that a lot of people disagree with this (at least people I have talked to about it), but I would not be totally opposed to some sort of special guide-lines regarding individuals who have had diagnosed mental illness issues in their lives. Perhaps these people would be required to have some sort of extra evaluation from a doctor before being allowed to own a gun.

Let's face it, the last few mass murders have all been carried out by people with previously diagnosed mental illness issues.

I bought a hand gun at a gun show here in Texas a few years back with a driver's lisence that had the wrong birth-date on it. I never noticed it myself until a few months later, but I just thought it odd that when they did the state "background check," nobody pointed that out.

When I lived in Michigan, it took several days to get all the paperwork done to purchase a gun. Here in Texas, the first purchase takes about 45 minutes. Subsequent gun purchases take about 15 minutes.

There're three times the number of laws regarding vehicles than there are guns, but there isn't any mass hysteria about setting new ones. Speed limits don't always work, but that doesn't mean we need to abandon the concept. Our gun laws are the weakest in the world (way weaker than Switzerland's). We also have the most gun murders, unregistered guns and felons with guns. Setting laws that prevent whackos from buying them illegally isn't controversial anywhere but here. The gunnuts are pervasive. They vote against their own interests, and they're a group of paranoid followers who do what they're told. They aren't the problem. They aren't the murderers, they aren't the mentally ill (in the general sense) and they aren't the criminals. They're just stupid. They stand as a human shield between sensible laws and gun profits. And they think they're "protecting freedom" while they're really just protecting gun manufacturers and criminals. Sorry, if you're worried about too many laws or the government having too much power or having the ability to control its own population, you're. Late. And these are the peopple that claim to be able to draw faster than the boogeyman they pretend is jimmying open their front door.

And Sundog, that doesn't surprise me in Texas. The last person who noticed they have textbooks there was Lee Harvey Oswald.
