I've just recently purchased a piece of property and was told by a neighbor that a 9 year old female's remains was found in the woods by my house posibly on my property back sometime between 1993-1995. She was a little african american girl who's dental records showed she had been missing since sometime in the 70s. We're getting ready to clear the wooded part of my property and I'd really like to know more about the case. If nothing else, I'd like to plant a garden where she was found out of respect for such a little angel. It bothers me so much to think what she must have gone through. I don't know where to start looking. I'd really like to know her name if nothing else. Can anyone help me?

I may not have all the facts straight. My yard connects harlem heights to clay street off of gatewood road. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been told that the young girl's name was possibly Kimberly Agent.

I contacted the state police and the fayette county sheriff. The state police couldn't help. The sheriff's department left a message with a detective who was working this area back then but he may be working on other cases and not have time for someone with questions but no new info on a case. Keeping my fingers crossed he does. I'm also hoping I can get info from other people that might have known her or the things she might have liked so I can add them to her garden. I just think it's so terrible that Oak Hill has forgotten about her because I know there must be people out there that still think about her everyday. To me, it's not just a back yard. Some little angel went to heaven back there and there should be something in rememberance of her. I hope that doesn't sound weird. I had a terrible experrience as a child that very well could have ended the same way and my heart hurts for her.

I remember when the remains were found, but I am not so sure she was 9 years old. It seems like she was a young woman, maybe late teens or early 20's. I may be wrong, though. The property is near my relative's house is the reason I remember. I think it is a great thing that you are doing for this human being that seems to have been forgotten.

You might try checking some of the local archives at the library (Oak Hill/Fayetteville). I would think they might have some old newspapers, etc. where you might find some information.

I was saving the library as a las resort. I don't know exact dates so I'm sure it's going to be hard to find that way. I did google her name and all that came up was the topix convo about teen girl find in gatewood. Some people on that convo seemed to know her so I was hoping they still get on topix and would come back and comment. I'm going on my neighbor's and my husband's memory (he grew up in this area). I don't know if I have any of the details right. Thanks for helping.

I lived on Clay Street during this time, it was a 13 year old girl that was found. If I am not mistaken she had been missing for a couple months and had a bad family life. I lived on both sides of the woods, I also lived in Harlem Heights. I loved living in both places and this incident didn't bother me one bit. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I didn't live in Oak Hill when this happened but knowing this and walking my woods behind my house and thinking about what she must have gone through really, REALLY bothers me. I feel safe here. I love this house and my 2 acre back yard but this place I feel safe at and love was the last place she ever saw. It was a scary, lonely place for her. Maybe some people may think I'm being a little over dramatic about it but it bothers me that much. I have a niece that is 15. I was abused at around 7. Planting a garden won't change the terrible thing that happened back there but to me it shows the respect that atleast I, the new owner of the property, do not see her death as a little thing that just happened in Oak Hill and "oooh how spooky it was on my property". No, her life was worth something, she had a long road that was suppose to be ahead of her and it was cut short. It's a very big deal to me even if it was in the lot a few steps away from mine, a little girl laid down her life back there and she should be respected.

I used to live on clay street with my ex husband. His mother owns property out there and he lived there most of his life. He told me about the remains being found in the woods. It is a safe neighborhood to live in. I lived there for years and loved it. Nice quiet and peaceful...
