I know.... I wish I knew someone that could tell, just not me. She needs to know. She maybe already knows. Just too serious to NOT know. Very scary, and deadly.

I had it. Have been treated with the triple therapy medicatipn which is hell btw. The medicine you take like Ten pills a day and a shot once a week. My Longterm gfriend does not have it as it is very hard like one and a billion chance to contract through sex. That being said it is very easy to contract hep a and b thru sex but most ppls immune system fight them off on their own. I am grateful that my girl has stood by me thru this horrible lifelong disease and yearlong treatment. The new medication works and technically u never get rid of it but the viral load hasnt showed up since i started the treatment. Which is basically as cured as a normal liver. The key is to catch it early. Look up dr charles in brookshire park at beckley. Good luck. Bottom line very very common to get . Medication is a wonder drug and saved my life but it is as intense as being treated for cancer.. Btw stepping into someone elses relationship to giv out info like that seems a lil extreme and between that couple to work out. Mind ur own business. Chances r she already knows. Hope this helped

If Hep C was a common disease there would be a vaccine for it like there is for hep A & B. You were very lucky to catch it early and get treatment for it. It is very easy to contract considering the circumstance. You can have a simple nose bleed and if someone around you happens for some reason to get your blood on them and it gets in an open wound there's a strong possibility they can contract it. It is like the HIV virus in that way and there is some controversy over contracting it thru sex but be careful. I am very glad you got treatment early and it is dormant at this time. I've seen a lot of people that don't get checked until they start having severe symptoms. Good luck with your recovery you had a lot of very good info to share with people on here.

Hep C can never even caught early be completely cured. Don't let anyone tell you that it can. It can be controlled if caught early. HEP C is something that is in the same status as HIV as it can be controlled with treatments that lasts for years, but eventually it will raise its ugly head again. It can lie in your system dormant for many years and may not bother you again until you start to have other liver problems and then it will return.

You will always be able to transmit it from yourself to another person.
