Breeze1235, how exactly have I "never" finished anything I started? I finished high school, I stayed at my last job until I couldn't anymore. I had to drop out of college because it wasn't feasible anymore. When I build my savings back and find a job I want to go back. And too lazy to look? Please. Most local businesses are getting sick of my face as often as I apply, and reapply, and reapply...but I'm sure you're just a troll.
To everything, thanks. I'm going to apply (for the 2nd or 3rd time in some cases lol) to all the places you mentioned.
I do have a confidence problem.:( I'm going to try to get over it. It just sucks walking into a fast food restaurant and having a bunch of 16 year old's calling you names they think you can't hear.
But that's not a copout or excuse. I'm going to move ahead and do everything I can to find a job.
Thanks.:)
Honey you maybe just need to work a little bit on your personality, a person with a good and positive personality can be very attractive even if they are'nt that physically attractive.Just keep a poitive attitude and quit worrying about what other people think, expecially that Breeze 1235, they are just an idiot. So just perk up,think poitive and put yourself out there.

There is a lot of great advice here. What is it about your looks that you are concerned about?

Perhaps a new hairstyle or a new outfit could boost your confidence. The summer items are on clearance right now and I'm sure you could find something cute and not spend a ton of money.

Please keep us posted!

5'9", size 16.....that isn't "fat"......your statement is unfounded; btw, do you know what punctuation is?
You also should have said WEIGHT, not weigh....
Maybe you should take an English class or something similar, then come back and play nicely!

How about selling stuff on ebay? Or start a website with online sales or something. It really dont take a lot of money but it does take time researchin what you want to sell and IF the product(s) will sell. I started out with buying $200 worth of wholesale stuff and now make around $2000ish a month - tax free (at least tax free for now until the govt starts) I also do mystery shopping, Hey, you wont get super rich but at least some meals and gas will be free. Thats just a few ideas. You can also go back to college by filling out the fafsa and if you dont have an income right now, then its FREE! Im doin pre-med and my education at MSU is absolutely FREE. I think you might be able to get some type of funding from DHHR too if you're going to school but Im not sure. Hope this helps.

Keep smiling, I have to say,I didn't expect your reply to be so snippy! Soon after I finished my last post here, I was called into an interview. I managed to get hired, and have been doing great at the job over a year later.

Long time, no post.

But you guys did boost my confidence.

Thank you all for that.:)

I have been looking for almost a year and I have plenty of experience and haven't found anything. I'm an attractive person I would say fair or cute. I don't have a degree but some college. I think we are in a tough job market. I have always got a job when I applied for one, almost anywhere in a good economy but I have never experienced this. I think California sucks in the job market. I heard one lady say she looked for THREE years for a job!!! She left Calfornia and got a job in one week when she left the state.

Everyone seems to talk about everything here, so I'll post this.
I've spent over a year actively trying to find a job and I can't. I apply part time, and full time. I apply at retail places, fast food joints, nice restaurants, security guard, jobs with no experience required, etc. I rarely get calls for an interview, and after an interview I never hear back.
I'm a 21 year old female. I can pass any drug test because I don't use drugs and rarely drink. I don't smoke. I'm not physically handicapped. I have no criminal record, except a couple traffic tickets (speeding, no seatbelt) which I paid my fine in full. I'm not wanted and have no warrants. I don't have any visible tattoos or piercings besides ears. I don't have a temper, and dress professionally during interviews.
I have 3 years of experience working in a grocery store. The store shut down, I didn't quit and wasn't fired. I have 2 years of college and plan on getting the other 2 once I'm not in such a financial bind.
Is the economy just this bad or is there something wrong with me? I blame my looks. I'm not pretty and I see a lot of waitresses and cashiers and secretaries are. I'm also overweight. I'm not obese, and it doesn't affect my health. But I wear about a size 16 at a height of 5'9''.
Could this be it? If not, what could it be? I'm in dire straits right now. I live on my alone so I don't have to live with a pill addicted family.
I don't understand what I can do more.
Arg, sorry this is a rant. I had to get it out even if no one reads it.
And please, PLEASE if you know of anyplace hiring let me know. I've probably tried it already but I could have overlooked something.
