I would hate to be watching the news and see the red Acura, be told that a woman was driving it, and know the location of the vehicle. Someone knows that person, and just found out via the news that she died. It's really sad.

I was thinking the same thing. Surely the family had already been contacted at this point. Hopefully they didn't find out this way. That is such a dangerous road anyways. It really should be widened and a turning lane added.

Does this mean you drive to fast? If you know it is a slick
area why not slow down and maybe you won't slide?

This is the same spot where we lost a classmates more than 20 years ago- hit by a car waiting on the bus. I have known of many accidents here. It should be thoroughly investigated.

Well.. You don't ahve to be going fast to slip and slide on this road. There are potholes everywhere that can't be seen in the rain, steep hills with driveways all off the road. So you come over a steep hill and there is someone stopped in the middle of the road trying to make a left turn because there are no turning lanes, there are little to no shoulders at all and trees everywhere. so either you hit the car in front of you or you hit a tree, speeding or not. And for whatever reason this road gets super slick when it rais especially the stretch north of the railroad tracks. It is just a dangerous road that for years we have said needs to be fixed.. but more people obviously have to die before our wonderful metroploitan government will do anything..

I have to agree with the comment about the hill and the sad condition of the road. For anyone who has traveled this road coming from Lebanon road, I always start to slow down and turn my turn signal road on by the time I reach the last apartment complex. Being I also ride a motorcycle I am extra cautious whether riding solo or with my wife onboard. While I know the two couples that live just off on the right like the trees It would be nice if they would trim them back a bit. It would make it eaiser to at least get a glimpse ahead of approaching cars. My heart goes out to all the victims of this horrible accident as well as the motorist who had just turned off tulip grove onto lessa ann. I know she is shook up as well.

Can you people take a different route in traveling?
Is it a road that you have to drive on to get to
your destination?

What a stupid comment coming from an Atlanta driver! I'd rather take my chances here than there.

This is a terrible road, not the worst, but significantly dangerous. I rarely can do the speed limit on it even in great conditions just because there's little view ahead from all the curves, trees, hills, etc.

I think the reason its so slick is because the last part of that road (before crossing Chandler/Division) is a steep incline. Any engine fluids will run down the hill on the roadway as cars stop to wait on the train/green light. In the opposite direction, the cars run over several large ruts/bumps from road and train tracks. I can only guess engine fluids (even minimal) drip from the severe jarring even crossing slowly.

There's really no where else for this stuff to run off to and because of the steepness, its not only rainy days which make much of the road slick.

**I'm not implying that cars are leaking fluids left and right all over the roads of TN or this road by itself. I mean that the flaws of this road create danger on top of which there's the added "normal" engine fluids.

Hydoplaning is a huge problem when it is wet or raining. People still want to drive the speed limit or over itwhen the weather is inclement.
Slow down, it saves lives and maybe one day it may save your own.

Pretty difficult for the many, many folks that live on this street or in the subdivisions off of it. Its a very well used area, especially with all the new homes/condos built over the last few years.

This is awefull. Where I live the streets are so narrow. It just worries me someone will hit head on or hit a child due to the fact that they think the neighborhood is the interstate!

"Other than the rain, some kind of foreign substance made the road slick."
Oil vapors from crankcase vents accumalates on roads and they're "always" slicker at the beginning of a rain. People that don't realize this and slow down when it's raining are asking for trouble and inevitably someone innocent get's involved and winds up hurt or dead.

I was not sure, not being from that area. I hope something can be done about this matter before it's to late again.

Very very true. It rains and yet people drive how they would drive on a clear day! You cannot do that. You also are not supposed to put your cruise control on during rain or when the road is wet. Due to the fact that if you hidraplaine(spelling) your cruise control can get stuck!

It is easty to make idol comments. This is a life lost. It is my prayer that the person in this car was acquainted with our Heavenly Father. I lost my Sweet Mother 2 days before 9/11 in a head on collision. We must think before we talk about driving and traffic. A life was lost and how at an instant our lives can be gone. If i could share with all of you let us slow down and take life real. as we can see and I have experienced, life is over in a second. It takes us years to recovery from such a lost. I love all of you is my reason for making a comment. Please be sure to value your life whether you are driving or not. Life, we really have no control of our next breath. I learned this valuable lesson 2 days before 9/11. Let us all pray for the safety of all of us no matter how it comes. God loves us all, make sure your life is connected to him.
Sincere Love for all...
