I heard there was a stabbing in Oak Forest (high school victims)? Has anyone heard about that?

There were 3 boys stabbed after leaving a party late Saturday night early into Sunday morning. The boys are doing fine at Christ Hospital I am told and should be released soon. Appearantly, according to the SouthtownStar charges are to be determined today sometime. It was another high school boy or boys that did the stabbing.

At this point, there is an investigation in progress. Any details at this point are not being released until the Chief of police makes a press release.
Once I receive the go ahead from the police department, I will post any detail I am given at the "Neighborhood Watch - Crime Prevention" forum at this site.

What are H.S. kids doing out till the we hours of the morning.Anyone who is out at that time of night is up to no good.

Back in our days you didn't stay out that late till you were in college and even then your folks wanted to know where you were going to be.My how the times have changed!

That would be a question for the parents; they are ultimately the one's responsible for their children.

it doesnt matter what time it was, it could have happened at anytime. the kid was nuts and obviously had something wrong with him to even think to do something like that. The boys are fine, THANKS FOR ASKING!!! one of them almost died...but is that even important to someone like you? i guess not. you're not even concerned with what their condition is like. The one has had to go through agony, with open heart surgery to repair damage done to the HEART! it was not their fault that some, obviously disturbed, kid was roaming around looking for some trouble. But thats ok im sure that since you don't know them then you don't really care whether they lived or died!

it is not right that this happened, but it is not right that they were out. Granted we should not have to worry about our safety no matter the time of day. I do not know many of the details, so i don't want to say much, but did the kid who did the stabbing have a motive? And did they beat the kid up out of self defense?

i would first like to start off by saying my prayers are with the boys and their families that they fully recover. And acording to the newspaper today this happened at 1:oo a.m. where does this wee hours of the night come from and how can you say its the parents fault? And oak Forest curfew is Midnight under the age of 17! Why do people have to come on here and say stupid s@@t? The fact of the matter is 3 boys were seriously injured and the person who did this needs to be caught!! How about saying a prayer for these kids and their families instead of ridiculing them for what time it happened?? Is that too much to ask?

I have already said may prayers from the time I heard about this incident and continue to do so. I don't believe it needs to be broadcast to the world.
And I will stand behind my statement that it is the parents responsibility to know where their kids are and what exactly they are doing at all times as the parents are ultimately responsible for their actions.
It is extremely sad that this incident happened, but unfortunately, life is unpredictable.
I have two kids of my own and if I ever said I was not responsible for their actions then I should have never had them in the first place.
Holidays do not change the curfew time. Sun-Thu 10:30pm and Fri & Sat 12:00am. The correct curfew time for Sunday was 10:30pm.

Your anger is understood at a time like this, but to assume you know what is in the head of the posters here is just that--an assumption. We do think more deeply about this incident than one comment might reveal.
We are all concerned for everyone involved in this incident. We are praying and hoping all persons involved will heal completely both mentally and physically--not just the injured but everyone who knows them. It will be a long road to recovery, and I know all of the children have their families, friends, and teachers that will help them through all of this.
May you all be enveloped in the light of God during this troubling time.

Are you sure that the kid who did the stabbing
wasn't acting in self defence?

That is all still under investigation. The Southtown Star printed the following in their article, "High school students stabbed after party", dated today:
"Oak Forest police are asking any witnesses to a stabbing early Monday morning in the 15500 block of Duncan Road to come forward to aid their investigation."
AND
"Police said witness and victim statements as to what happened have been too conflicting for charges to be filed, so far."
We musn't speculate until further information is released to the public once the police and Cook County state's attorney's office completes their investigation.

Your right, I don't care! The kids involved put them selfs at risk for being there and having any dealing with the person with the knife.I do find it odd that it was 3 against 1.

I also fell that the truth hasn't been told here.
Why was there 3 against 1. The way I see it, if you play with fire, there's a chance you will get burned!

"Friend of OF victim" First off, lets not throw a guilt trip at anyone because I didn't say, those poor kids. They put themselfs in harms way.

You say the other kid was nuts, how do you know, were you there? Don't mix nuts with fear. I would be in fear for my life if it was 3 against 1.

I agree with "It is what it is" about the truth not being told here, boys will be boys! The police stated that the other male had 2 black eyes.I wonder how that happened.

If I was getting beat by 3 males, I would look for a weapon myself and if I had a knife, I would probably have used it in self defense. There's more going on with this story and no one wants to tell the truth.Till that happens nothing will be solved.

Dear Friend of OF victim,
I have had a chance to absorb what has been posted so far on this forum, and you must forgive my moment of insensitivity.
By human nature we react to a traumatic event with the natural questions, such as what were these kids doing out so late? The more important question is WHY did this event even have to happen in the first place? We should put aside our questions for now, because at this moment what is needed for those who have been affected by this incident is our support and calming words that will help in initiating each person’s healing process. The important questions that need to be asked and answered at this point in time are being asked through the investigation. Our personal questions, can come later.
Please accept my humble apology if any of my previous posts may have affected you in a negative way. That was, in no way, my intent. I will refrain from speculation until the final outcome of the investigation as this does not lead to anything positive only the banter of arguments.
I will continue to pray and hope that everyone who has been affected by this traumatic event will, one day, fully heal.

To me,1:00am is the wee hours of the morning. And I don't take kindly to someone calling my post s*!t.Do I bash your posts?
They did catch him and they let him go for lack of proof.Next time before you say something, please have the facts.
It is too bad that they were stabbed, but if they weren't messing with the kid, it wouldn't have happened. And where did I say anything about their parents? I think you need your eyes checked!

Grm,
I believe that was directed at me, which I hope I calmed this reaction to my initial statement with my additional posts.

I too am praying for full recovery of all who was affected. I do know one of the boy's personally and he will need all of your prayers as he has had a very hard life. I know there is no excuse for this behavior and I hope he heals both physically and mentally. I pray that all 4 boys heal and find some kind of inspiration so they can fullfill their greatest potential and learn to live their lives with a clear sense of purpose.
