Sounds like Ace will be closing their store in OF this coming week and moving all the inventory to Palos! Seems like now you have to go to Ace in Palos or Tinley.

Another store closes due to the economy - too bad - again a loss or Sales tax revenue and jobs for the community. Is there a plan in Oak Forest from the Economic Development Department to replace these store front operations? If there is would someone let us know what the plan is?

From what I was told by a very reliable source from Ace is that they will be closed by the end of the year. The Liquidation company that will handle the selling of Merchandise will be mailing out about 15,000 fliers to area residents to let them know of the closing and Sales. The one that is also owned in Chicago Heights will be closed also. Not so much the economy I was told, it's that they are too far in debt to Ace. Whatever the case, sad to see them go after all these years.

Sad indeed. I'm guessing that the fancy light poles and new sidewalk weren't enough to bring in new customers

There is a plan in place. It is to hire friends, pay them lots of money for a job they don't deserve and screw the OF taxpayer. But Hank has a heart, so I am sure that new businesses will be coming real soon.

I just received my invitation to Ace Hardware's going out of business sale. The sale will be open to the public on Thursday November 12th. Very sorry indeed.

We havent got around to that just yet, we have been too busy planning the parade for the tin mans return.
