This was my first visit to Pretty Paws with my 7 month old Yorkie. I have been to another groomer a couple months ago and was not too impressed. When I walked into Pretty Paws my Yorkie and I were both greeted by some very friendly and welcoming staff. Everyone seemed to be happy doing what they were doing. I was also greeted by about 8 other dogs who were either groomed already or waiting to be groomed. They were just all walking around and playing together as is they were all friends getting together for the day. My groomer seemed to really know what she was talking about and listened to what I wanted. When I returned, I was so impressed at the job she did. My Yorkie was cuter than ever. She had a bow in her hair and a bandana and was even given a toy. Their prices are reasonable for the work they do. I would recommend Pretty Paws to anyone looking for a good groomer. Keep up the great work and thank you.

I would highly recommend Pretty Paws! The dogs are not kept in cages for hours, they are allowed to play and have treats. Instead of waiting 5 hours for my dog, which I did at a different groomer, Pretty Paws had her ready in under 2!! I was a little jealous of Chloe's pampering, she looked great and was having fun with playing with three other poodles!! I loved that they invited my input about her cut as well! Keep up the great work!!

We took our dog their right after she opened her doors for a bath and nail trim. I asked her if she ever trimmed a Basset Hounds nails and she said yes. We were quoted a price before the bath, told her how we wanted her nails trimed and left our dog with her. I went back to pick up our dog and I about fell over when I saw how short they trimmed our dogs nails. They gave our dog a show cut, which means very short. When I was about to pay for her grooming she changed the price and wanted more. Later that day I noticed our dog was licking her paws, she was bleeding. I took our dog to the Vet and the vet told me that our breed dog should have been knocked out to do a show cut like our dog received. The Vet stated that our dog had to suffer a good deal during the cutting. The Vet was able to stop the bleeding and I took her home. I did see the Pretty Paws owner a week or so after it happened and told her what happened, she told me to bring her by anytime for another bath and trim. Like I would let that happen to my dog again! I have many neighbors close to me that have gone there and haven't gone back.

I would highly recommend Pretty Paws. I sympathize with the owner of the Basset Hound, with the nails being trimmed too short, but that could happen anywhere if a dog is moving around too much and they don't use tranquilizers there. I don't believe that dog suffered because of a short cut. I have a senior Cockapoo, that is treated with the utmost care when I bring him there. I have stayed and watched them groom dogs, and if a dog is too difficult, they would call the owners to let them know before putting the animal through any trauma. Before I found Pretty Paws, unfortunately my dog had his nails trimmed too short before too, and I know it's because he would just not sit still. But despite that unfortunate incident to the Basset Hound, I have been there many times and think they do a great job there. It is a more relaxed atmoshere so the animals can play together. I would say, give them a try, I believe you will be very happy.

I hate when people talk sh!t and don't have a clue! I got it first hand from several Vets, Our dog had to suffer a great deal because Basset Hounds have flat feet and their nails curve down ward. Most Vets who treat Basset Hounds will tell their owners in order to give the animal a show cut nail like was done to our dog is best to have them knocked out as for the pain would be unbearable. I guess it's true because our dog is scared to go to any Groomer and doesn't care for the vet much either.
And before this happened she was fine with going to both places. And as far as you not believing that my dog suffered I could care less what you think. Any one who uses Pretty Paws needs their heads examined!

I had brought my german shepherd to Pretty paws to just get a bath and nails. I called first to find out information there and it seemed to be a good price and I let them know that she has bad hips and that she needs to be careful. I get there and there were dogs walking everywhere!! How safe is that! What if one escapes, attacks my dog or for worse case is sick because the groomer I went to before asked me for shot records and they did not!!! My dog was not there long but when i picked her up they wanted to charge me more for the bath and my poor dog could barely walk!!! I was so upset and the owner said she didnt know what happened! Then I get home and her nails were bleeding all over my couch!!! I had to take her to the vet to get it to stop. For sure this is NOT a safe place for your dog!

I have a Border Collie who is very loving and very hyper, I was worried right from the start that she would hop over the small gate they have the dogs behind and boot out the door but she went right in and walked around investigating with all of the other dogs. She had never been to a groomer, I usually groom her myself but thought I would give it a try. I honestly think I did a better job, they said they could not shave her because she was moving around too much, maybe I'm wrong but I thought this was there job and they should have ways to get the dogs to be still, I once saw a small dog in a harness on a leash at a groomer, anyway, they acted like my dog was a bother and took the high fee for their poor grooming plus I had to give them a tip on top of it. I know groom her all of the time no problem, I would not recommend Pretty Paws nor would I take my dog back, it seems they only like to deal with small dogs. Then I was upset when I picked her up she was in a cage and no other dogs were, when I asked the owner why she changed the subject.

From the buzz in that office complex there, None of the tenants will be there much longer. There are many units empty and word has it the owner told their tenants if anything breaks, its on the renter and no refunds for any work done, hence empty units.

I wonder if they will be adding any more condos or town houses over their?

Pretty Paws is the BEST, I love the way you treat my dog and make her look so beautiful. The place is spotless which is an effort in itself since you allow all the dogs to play and socialize while they are waiting their turn to be pampered. All I have to say is "we are going to see Cindy," and my dog gets so excited. She knows it is a day of fun and pampering. I know it sounds crazy but Cindy you and your staff know how to treat our four legged friends. Keep up the great work and I will keep sending everyone I can to see you. Pretty Paws IS THE BEST!!

When you are posting your comments you need to watch which Pretty Paws you are speaking about! This shop is in Oak Forest, IL and is excellent. After reading a few other blogs I investigated these testimonials and found out there are more then 1 Pretty Paws and Pretty Paws By Cindy. Watch who you are speaking about before posting!
Pretty Paws in Oak Forest, IL. had nothing to do with the people from Wheaton and Elk Grove Village. Testimonials are fantastic if they are directed to/at the correct people but hurtful to a company if they are not. Please make sure you know what locate and what owner you are speaking about before you post.

Hi back!! I been busy with Summer and working on a few projects that my wife has been hounding me about. I need to do some painting and re-do our wood trim in the house. Between work and my honey do list I'm staying busy, what new in Colloguy Land?

I love going to Pretty Paws because I look like the cutest dog in the world when I leave. My owner asks me if I want to go to Pretty Paws and I run to the door and wait for my leash. Perhaps it is because I started going there at a young age and love seeing all the other dogs. I like to socialize, get groomed and I smell great when I leave. Did I mention that I get a matching bow and scarf too?

I've been going to Pretty Paws in Oak Forest for quite a few years now and never, ever had a problem. I had a senior golden retriever with very bad hips and they made sure to get the senior dogs in there first thing in the morning (on Saturdays) so the dog didn't have to be there too long. Suzanne always did exactly what I asked and we never had a problem. And my dog would come home with a bandana and bows, and even painted nails!! That dog has passed and now my new dog will be going there for grooming. I highly recommend Pretty Paws by Cindy in Oak Forest. One other thing that I found impressive was that the grooming area is out in the open for all to see. They have nothing to hide.

Take things gently otherwise you'll end up running round in ever-decreasing circles. Yes, you may still have a lot to do but you won't achieve very much if you develop butterfingers or waste all your energy on a full-blown panic. Maybe you could rope someone into helping you, rather than doing your Cinderella act in the kitchen while everyone else takes it easy?
