Candi Carr by far ! A person with roots in our community, creative and passionate business owner, chamber of commerce, city committees, financial background, not afraid to make changes ... Will build on the diversity of our town ... a genuine leader focused on what is right for our community not self- interests!

No question that Candi will best represent her ward and our fair city!

Passionate, I guess if the means rude, I've been in her sad little store a few times and was treated like I'm inferior, not gong back.
Let's not forget who'll be pulling her strings... she on the Rita campaign ticket. Not afraid to make changes, creative, a genuine leader.... those will soon change if elected.

Ouch. We certainly have never seen that and known Steve and Candi for many years. Candi has gone out of her way to help others many times, promotes Blue Island endlessly and still believes in the potential of "our town" ... seems like you have been dissed but your comment a pretty pathetic accusation to post without evidence to discredit here candidacy!

"Sad, little store?" Candi and Steve have made more of a commitment to Blue Island - over ten years now - than many business owners that have folded up there tent and moved on.

Carr Gardens is charming, offers unique and thoughtful gifts, a creative boutique in an otherwise failing town. Yet they persist. Taking every opportunity to promote shopping in Blue Island (unless you are looking for vacant storefronts there ain't much left ...).

Rude? Please ... shy - at times. Perhaps you were expecting the WalMart greeter or someone to be graced with your presence? Perhaps she was having a bad day? Ever happen to you?

Steve and Candi are committed to ressurecting Blue Island and building upon its diversity.

On the Rita comment howeer I tend to agree. If what I hear is true Domingo has accepted Bob's gracious "help" - I stll think Candi will voice her opinion in her votes ... she's not afraid to stand up for what is right ... unfortunately that won't fair well with her administration's leadeship.

We remain firmly in support of Candi's election!!!!!!

Ok, I'll retract the comments about my personal experiences and opinions of her and the store.
I have bad days frequently. If I relied on customer service for profit, I'd remain in pleasant customer service mode while running my store.

Regardless, she will be a puppet or she wouldn't be getting the support. It's real swell that you "think" she'll voice her opinions, but unlikely. She may still voice some opinions or concerns, but the votes she makes will be dictated.

We cannot allow the entire ticket running under Rita's "support" win or they'll control the city council.

There must be have a divided government in the city council to ensure some watchdog activity.

She may be nice and have high hopes for Blue Island, but maybe she can focus her energy in other productive ways.

Oh boy, what a back handed apology. Look why don't you just admit you like the ill tempered and racist Alan Stevo & be done with it. After all, Chief Hoaglund is a dupe for
for both Peloquin and Stevo. Who in hell do you think got Hoaglund to run? Use the little grey cells that God gave you for brains and see the obvious. Sheesh!
Candice is my choice. BTW did you kow that at one time Hoaglund was once part of the Vargas family. Until he went his usual errant ways and got full of himself into a mid-life crisis. He still holds a grudge against the family for throwing him out. Go and ask him.

Sorry, Candice does not have the umbrella coverage that Hoglund retains. If you park an inch over the yellow curb while shopping at her store a citation is issued, Hoglund and his slob bartender can park their vehicles in the turn lane 24 hour a day no questions asked. How will he attend council meetings for Posen and Blue Island when they are on the same time schedule.Does the Carr family receive free golf and fuel?

So sad it is, how you assume the voices in your head are fact. Not a Stevo fan at all, not a Brown or Vargas fan either. Not necessarily a Hoglund fan, neither. But I'd rather have someone that may not be another Rita sheep. You seem to have think you have a little insight on the personal life of someone in which you can't even spell his name. How is it that he was once part of the Vargas family? This must have been recent, for it to be a mid-life crisis. He's only in his fifties now.
Let us know what you think?

Im not as privileged as some of you. So Peloquin and Rita have combined forces? The others suggest Peloquin is rallying for some other independents.
So Carr and Hoglund are both supported by Rita?
Running for the same ward?
Are all the candidates in Rita's pocket? Is there any point in even voting?
Please let the rest of us in on your wisdom.
Thank you

Blue Island Independents are the Rita party which some of the current administration joined now that our Mayor is retireing from office. The Independent and Democratic party candidates are on their own?

With their numbers dwindling the partys joined together and became "The Blue Island Independent Party".
A current third ward alderman (Coalition Progressive) is running as an "Independent" for clerk and former BIPD chief (Coalition Progressive) is running as an "Independent" for 4th ward alderman.

I can't vote for Candace now that she is part of Rita's camp. Its absolutley sad that such a nice person could have been duped by them. I would never be able to trust her. What is worse is that Rita has very little influence of anything west of western. The only thing he had for leverage was perhaps paying for her literature. Otherwise, he provides nothing for Candace. I'd hate to think they made another type of deal in order to get her to join. Again, now that she's in with them, can't trust her.

Thank-you.

I share your concerns and observations about Rita's "influence" - my understanding was there was no love loss between Peloquin and Rita over the years - which is one reason Rita hasn't done squat for Blue Island down in Springfield (yes, I know BI is not fully in his area but politicos are politicos and can get things done .. AND his township office is in Blue Island AND his family is from Blue Island ... etc. etc.) Rita has not impressed me a bit and the fact the Domingo and his party had to kiss his ring before getting the nod makes me both sick and angry.

I think Candace will try to "do the right thing" but will be voted down and/or shut out in the process - and ultimately will regret she joined the Vargas ticket.

Hoglund is in it to feed this third(?) pension? Gotta love the government workers ... hellooooo unfunded pensions!
Just the facts

I'm sure she'll regret it... unless they throw her some of the fat.

Whether you like him or not, he collects one pension that he earned after 30+ years as a police officer in Blue Island. He's working ELSEWHERE, but can't possibly work long enough in Posen to collect a pension there.

Btw... The employees aren't the ones who caused this pension issue. It's the thieving, incompetent and selfish politicians. The workers contribute to the pension fund consistently, whether they'd like to or not. The politicians are the ones stealing from Peter to pay Paul and so forth...

And what type of pension do Blue Island Alderman get?
What are the terms required to receive this? And how much is it?
Please provide cited facts only. Save your assumptions or blatant pot-stirring lies.
