he stole a police car, ran a police officer over, and then ran from them. he probably did not deserve to get shot, he did deserve something. an innocent man just doesn't run from the cops.

He got behind the wheel of the vehicle and was actively trying to run a police officer over. A police officer, just like anyone else, has the right to defend themself from great bodily harm or death using deadly force if it will stop the threat.

And, a 4000 pound SUV make one heck of a weapon...

I'm glad no police were hurt -- an SUV is a deadly weapon, and lethal force was justified. I'm less glad that my 6-year-old saw the immediate aftermath of the shooting on her way into school today. I hate the violence, even if it was necessary.

Good job! The officer did exactly what he was trained to do.I feel bad for the officers involved. Some scumbag just changed the life of a good cop. I say THANK YOU to the officers for doing ther job. And thank you for saving me some tax dollars for not housing this scumbag, theif.

LET ME TRY RUNNING YOU OVER WITH AN SUV AND SEE WHAT YOU WOULD DO. HE DEFINATELY DESERVED TO BE SHOT FOR TRYING TO RUN OVER POLICE OFFICERS WHO ARE DOING THEIR JOB TO PROTECT IDIOTS LIKE YOU, AND STILL MAKE IT HOME TO THEIR FAMILIES. FOR THIS YOU CALL THEM PIGS? YOUR A DISGRACE TO SOCIETY.

I saw this on my way to work. Crazy, crazy Although it just don't make sense it sounds like the police are trying to hide something. How did he even get in the position to even steel the cop car? I think there lying and there was two cop cars the one he so called tried to steel didn't even have blood in it. This just does not add up! you'll see someone is in big trouble. For everyone leaving comments like he should have died, just keep in mind this guy has family some where! p.s. are they not aloud to taze anymore what??? trigger happy ass oak creek police!

Did you not see the blood on the suv in the video? It wasnt that hard to see.All this over stolen items, his a-zz should have just given up and not ran, but instead he was a dummy and unfortunately paid the price for it. I would love to see you try to taze someone who is in a vehicle..Good luck getting that to go thru the car.

Your an idiot. You clearly didn't see the entire incident on your way to work. Perhaps I can suggest going back to school. I'm well aware of the details to this situation and of all public safety agencies we work with, Oak Creek officers are human, professional and made a very difficult decision in attempting amd succeeding in the removing of the attempted murder of officers. One person correctly stated that a 4000lb SUV is a weapon. A weapon I might add that if it hits you at a high rate of speed, yur stand a very small chance of living whereas with a bullet most police involved shooting result in the suspect living. To state as a fact that no blood was in a vehicle that you did not personally see and expect folks to believe you shows how much of an idiot you are. The man had 6 burglary convicts (not so bad that he should make decisions that result in his life haing to be taken) but stealing a car, and running the officers over was deliberate. The officer attempting to stop his SUV, put the vehicle in park, remove his seat belt, and run after this guy forgot to remove his key from the ignition. I'm sure you call that entrapment. Anyway, as a normal course of business, officers performing their traffic stops do not remove their keys from the ignition. The suspect, as dumb as can be, decided that what he did was so terrible that police would take him to prison for life. He made a bad decision that his family now need to live with. It's unfortunate. The cops are not hiding anything. They have nothing to hide. Your right, things don't add up but its fron the suspects actions, not the cops. Again, an idiot remark about tasing. That first implies the guy is within local control and he wasn't. To taser someone don't you need to be close to them? That probably wasn't a well thoughtout comment you made, was it? Yes, the suspecy had family. So do the officers. Why did the guy run? I'm sure your comments are as stupid as they are because you have something in common with this guy don't you. Maybe you shared a cell with one another.

Wow - it never ceases to amaze me on how ignorant some people can be. "Officers should have tazed someone trying to hit them with a truck...officers should have shot the weapon out of the suspects hand....pepper spray someone with a knife". It is always the same. It is so easy for the simple minded to sit on the side lines and judge. You try doing the job. Let me ask you this... If it was your loved one in danger --- what would you want the police to do?? You would want them to take any action necessary to stop the threat as quickly and as safely as they could. Yes - this felon had a family... but so did the officers involved. Again... you have the people that think because they watch CSI and have figured out the hour plot by the end, they can watch a 10 second clip on the news and have it all figured out. "Cops are covering it up". Really??? You got all that from driving by the scene?? Amazing!! No blood in the truck?? WOW!! I would love to know what you do because I guarantee you're in the wrong business. Maybe you can watch some old school video for everyone and tell us who actually shot Kennedy...These are the same people who try to give legal advice to friends and family but have never taken one class on the subject. The same who give everyone tips on how to raise children but theirs are the most misbehaved. Convicted felon who was in the commission of another felony. Fled the scene and led officers on a high speed pursuit disregarding anyone elses safety (felony). Crashing into a building and fleeing on foot(felony). Of course, again, not concerned if anyone in the building may have been injured. After being chased, commits another felony by stealing a squad car. And another by attempting to strike a person (not to mention a police officer) with his newly stolen vehicle..twice... To the police officers, I say a simple and modest "thank you and I'am sorry". I am sorry that you had to make the most difficult and hardest decision you probably ever had to make due to someone else's reckless and selfish disregard. To most of my fellow bloggers.. thank you for offering your thoughts and support. To the others...the simple, the misunderstood, and the ignorant.... you have my pity. For you will never understand the way of anything and will only see things as you want to see it --- clouded.
