i dont think that none of the school should be closed because the paretns can keep the sick children at home if they are very ill.

See, thats the problem..Parents wont keep them home if they cant afford to miss a day of work....Afraid of losing their job because they cant come into work even if its 1 day....

many parents don't feel the need to keep the kids home if they are just "not feeling good". But I do think when a child is running a fever and downright sick, they need to be kept home. However, state laws govern how many days a child can miss in a year and if the maximum amount is reached it becomes an issue with the school and state which is why many parents do not keep their kids home.

You'd think parents would have enough sense to keep their children home when they're sick but trust me they don't. Parents have plans for the day and it doesn't include staying home with a sick child. I've even seen sick parents and sick kids visit people in a hospital setting.

There should have been more h1n1 vaccines available, for they knew this was a problem for school age children last year. Also if you have reached the maximum amount of school days missed, you can get a doctor's letter (for the days ill) and the missed days will not be considered unexcused. Furthermore, parents may not be able to miss work, but now that the school is closed they are missing work and because of it causing other to miss work as well.
