A 31-year-old Illinois State Police trooper has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after allegedly killing a 29-year-old woman in Westchester shortly after midnight on Sunday morning.

Why two counts when there was only one victim?

I HELPED COACH BRIAN HIMBER AND MY SON WHEN HE WAS IN GRAMMER SCHOOL,HE WAS A VERY NICE AND RESPECTFUL KID.PARENTS WERE VERY WELL LIKED @ THE PARK.I AM VERY SORRY TO HEAR THAT SUCH A GREAT KID,WOULD EVER BE INVOLVED IN THIS. PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE VICTIM AND HER FAMILY. ALSO THE HIMBER FAMILY. THIS HAS BEEN A TRAGE1101DY.

Clearly he is not a "NICE Respectful" man if he goes around shooting people.
Clearly life and years change people. Apparently he is a sick man and will certainly pay for what he did. Unfortunately, the families will pay also. My heart goes out to the families.

How did you get names? There was so little information in the press about this story you would think there was a cover up!

A cover-up? Really? Did you not read the article attached to this page - it clearly has the victim's and the shooter's name. |
I hung out with Brian a few times post High School, he was a great person that would do anything for a friend. You can def tell that the job has taken its toll on his mental well being......my heart does go out to the victims family as well as the himbers

The 31-year-old man allegedly shot and killed a 29-year-old woman before attempting to take his own life at a graduation party in the town north just of Western Springs.

Must have been some party, wow.

Two counts because attempting to kill yourself is illegal also
You cannot really believe what you just wrote, do you? It is because she was pregnant but good guess. |
I take it the literacy level in Westchester is rather low? It clearly gives the names of those involved. The only thing covered up is your ability to read. |
She was not pregnant. 1ST charge is because it's illegal to kill someone. 2nd charge is because it's illegal to point a weapon at someone. FYI; Now there are SIX charges and hopefully they all stick. Stop one = Cook County Jail Stop two = Prison Final stop = HELL |

We've been following this story, but haven't been able to find any updated information. You mentioned there are 6 charges now- where do you find that?
I get what you said but pointing a gun isn't murder and it said he was charged with 2 counts of murder. I don't really care I just want him to pay for what he did. It was so senseless. |

Brian Himber was an extremely troubled trooper. He was assigned to District 15 (Oak Brook) and patrolled the tollroads of Northern Illinois. I used to run into him in Cook County Circuit Court in Rolling Meadows and we used to drink together while on duty many times. Troopers do not have a great deal of supervision and can do whatever they please. We get our own squad cars and have plenty of chance to play. A lot of troubled state troopers. Every trooper and police officer should undergo annual polygraph and psychological testing.

Pointing a gun at someone is an intent to kill. |
I agree testing should be done. |
