I cant believe the things im reading on this site! You people should be ashamed of yourselves, especially those supporting Mr. Serpico. Im not involved with either campaign and I was going to vote for Mr. Serpico, like ive always done, but if you guys are a reflection of what his campaign is about; I don't think I can vote for him anymore. I guess I can tolerate throwing dirt at specific candidates, because thats the way politics are nowadays, but some of you crossed the line talking about families. Its disgusting. I live in the nice part of Melrose and have never had any problems so i have never had to think twice about voting for him. But its incredible what some of you are saying. Is it not possible to keep things civilized? I've really started to question what his campaign is all about, since all you can resort to is personal attacks. I have not read one thing discussing what Mr. Serpico's plan for the future of Melrose is. Ive read some attempts to describe what this Martinez guy's plans are, but they always seem to get shut down with a personal insult. Clean up your act people, you might lose more voters than gain if you keep it up. Just a personal opinion.

Yeah okay;)! What have you read about Martinez's plans because I can't find them anywhere? Please tell me where to look. And why would any ones negative response prevent them from continuing to write???
If your happy where you live why would some stupid blogs change your mind about voting for Serpico. I agree that what is written on these blogs are out of line. BUT they go both ways. There is plenty of bashing coming from the Martinez campaign. For example when they called Serpico a drug user. That is Sooo far from the truth! There are many more examples such as that. Read the blogs. This can very easily be another tactic by the Martinez for people to feel sorry for them. As a matter a fact, I was gonna vote for martinez but I changed my mind because they resorted to personal attacks against Serpico. Yeah I think that's why I will change my vote. How stupid does that sound?!! You really would change your vote based on blogs?! How do you know who is writing them? It could be a strategy to convince people like you. Have you ever thought of that?!
Or you could be a martinez person posting this. Why would you just randomly mention that you "live in the nice part of melrose"! How many useless tactics are you people gonna use?! Give it up all ready. This election will not be even close!! When its over you martinez people can go back to your caves and call 70 percent of the voters stupid for electing Serpico. Just like they did last time. Blah blah blah blah blah blah

I never saw the post accusing Serpico of being a drug user, I wouldnt believe it if I woudlve read it. If you read my post correctly you would've seen the part where I said that throwing dirt at Candidates is expected, but families?
So what you are saying is that Martinez supporters are purposely posing as Serpico supporters to make me disgusted about the way Serpico's people treat their opposition? That would make sense, except that I dont think so many people would waste so much time pretending to be someone they are not.

The reason that I mentioned where I live is because I was noting that I have never had to think twice about who I vote for, I havent seen any of the problems that I hear about so often. Its nice and quiet where I live and I like it that way. I don't make my decision just based on this forum, but it does make me question the type of people that are supporting either side. I have seen bashing from both sides, im not blind. But the bashing is overwhelmingly coming from the Serpico camp, and like I said, its more than just candidate bashing. Thats just my opinion.
I dont have time to go through all these posts, much less the desire to read the garbage (on both sides) that has been said. But, I was reading a couple of weeks ago the posts from an obviously pro-martinez person who was answering questions and posing questions of his own for you pro-Serpico people. I dont recall the persons "name" but every response to him was a personal attack. Why would anyone want to continue to argue with people that doesnt listen to what you are asking and only responds with a personal insult? I would give up trying to reason with someone like that.
In the end, I dont care if you think im a Martinez supporter posting to get sympathy or whatever you think. I know who I am. All im saying is that I wouldnt expect so many Serpico supporters to say such disgusting things. Especially the racist stuff, thats a whole other monster! I knew I would find some hateful stuff on this forum, but i had no idea I wouldn't find anything useful. Maybe ill give the other side a shot by hearing them out if they come to my door and see for myself if these people are as bad as you say they are. I don't know, alot can be said in the next few weeks, im just trying to point out that votes may be lost because you turn people off instead of just discussing issues. Thats all.

I apologize if I insulted you in anyway. I completely understand where you are coming from. The chances are if you are non hispanic they will not bother knocking on your door. I tell you this based on my experiences and many of my friends and family who are non hispanic. They have spoken with some of our hispanic neighbors but not ours. I do not wear Serpico caps nor anything like that. They just assume because I'm white I will not support them. This town is being divided and that is a shame.
Personally, I don't have anything against Martinez. I go based on his political experience. He was a trustee in stone park. He left that town the way he found it. And that is a shame. I believe he moved to melrose park because he assumed he would win the mayoral election based on his nationality. I realize he was only a trustee but he never took a leadership role in a town of 2,000. He went with the flow in that town full of corruption. I would not want this town to eventually turn into stone park.
I just don't believe that he is a better mayoral candidate then Serpico. I realize everything is not perfect in this town but I am afraid that if Martinez wins this town would move backward.
I hope that you don't base your vote on these ignorant blogs. I also hope that you have the opportunity to speak with both candidates and make a well informed vote. Remember anyone can make promises to win an election. They should explain the planning and strategy on how they will make those promises a reality.
Again I apologize if I offended you in any way.

FYI, you don't need to do too much research to find the bad mouthing on RMP side, just check out the Martinez website and read all their bashing on their own RMP website. All they do is call the current admin., corrupt, and thieves! See all their cartoon character bashing, calling people rats! Now compare it to the MVP website, not 1 word on RMP! So who is going public with their bad mouthing now? I am a supporter of Serpico but I do not support this bashing. It's not fair. And it certainly isn't fair for the families who are not politically involved, and God knows bringing up the deceased is just right. Play fair! Let's stick to the important MP topics and leave families out!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your apology. In your case it seems their assumption was right! lol. Im only joking with ya! I can see the division just by reading this forum. I agree that it seems like the town is divided, but I dont think its Serpico or Martinez that are causing that rift. I think its the people that work in the campaigns and the hardcore racists that are fermenting that division. Thank you offering your viewpoint on why you are supporting Serpico.Thats how this forum should work, not with baseless personal attacks. Im actually contemplating contacting both sides now so that I can get the information directly from the candidates mouth's.

More corruption. More bad cops. Bigger debt and bloated payroll!

Even Serpicos own family members want him out before he completely ruins the town.

I still support serpico. I am Mexican. Honestly, I had to think twice before I voted because of your racism coming out this election. Its unreal how some of you think. We are all God's creations. Just because you are a certain race does not make you better than anyone else. I was close to voting against Serpico even though I think generally he is a better mayor than martinez would have been. But people like you make it difficult. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Your true colors are coming out of you. I almost feel guilty that I supported the right person for the job. You are the ones that have to live with your hatred. It really is an ugly thing. Being Mexican is a beautiful thing.

Agreed. The Serpico supporters are very racist because they see their power slipping away.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aquarius

If you're a typical Aquarian you're often quite idealistic and today is no exception. You're wandering around on cloud nine, especially if you're thinking about a very special someone, and indulging in all sorts of deliciously romantic daydreams. Reality? You've no time for it right now, because it will intrude too much on your fantasies.
