Powerful Citizens' Group Urges Denial of Montanore ("Libby Mine") Permit

In its response to the Army Corps of Engineer's request for public comments on Montanore Minerals Corp's 404 permit application, the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) states that the mine's "proposed discharges do not comply with the Section 404(b)(1) Guidelines,[and] are contrary to the public interest."

NWF has over 4 million members and supporters, plus affiliate organizations in 48 states, including 5,000 members in Montana, the home of the proposed Montanore Mine.

The powerful citizens' organization calls MMC's plans for its massive, 37 story high and 2 mile long tailings impoundment "little more than scribbling on a napkin." It terms the mine "an ill-considered project in an extraordinarily sensitive and important natural environment."

Looks like more delays in the offing for Dobbs and Mines Management Inc. Don't hold your breath, investors.

Hmmm,
The Army Corps of Engineers ok'd the Montanore 404 permit.

NWF's responce must not have been any more then "scribbling on a napkin". There isn't much on the radar from the "Powerful Citizens Organizations". I guess I should include that "HUGE" 2 person grassroots organization, Alt1. Maybe they can read the writing on the wall..... Looks like fewer delays in the offing for Dobbs and Mines Management Inc. Sounds like a ROD sometime in 2013. No need to hold your breath.

It's heartwarming to see Pierpontpatches3 try to defend her position. This was the same name that was used for so long to defend her partner Paul Mottsman,) AKA Sam Haley-Rose), during his eventual conviction of the co founder of the only opposition web site based in Libby on forgery.

The Army Corps Of Engineers 404 permit was granted. It the 3 permit needed to start up the mine. So far no environmental organization has petitioned any agency for review or rejection of the current permit. Its beginning to look like the environmental organizations are giving a "pass" on this project. They are beginning to see that this is a well researched project that will stand the test of any litigation.

I think the bigger issue is why did a post from May 12th 2012 show up in this string now.

Bill, Sorry but I dredged up the post.... Just pointing out that in May 12 2012 Ms.Pierpont and all her other alias's were pushing the concept of the mine going nowhere and that it was never going to receive agency approval. Just proves the Roses and all their attempts to stop the mine (for whatever reasons they had) were wrong as usual. Their predictions of an Alternative One (No Mine)finding for the project by the agencies was and still is a non-subject. Haley, Pierpont and the other alias's went to great lengths to have a number of my posts removed that proved their rationale was a bunch of bogus, twisted lies, mis-quotes and down right fabricated crap. Now I get vindicated as the mine moves forward. I've waited a long time to post this and say "I told you so". You can't buffalo the agencies and public opinion with the crap they were putting out.
Just sayin'

Digicus: I never believe that the Roses,(or whatever they call themselves) were ever a threat to the permitting process. It was getting ridicules when they started to accuse David Lathem of some kind of impropriety in reporting the arrest and conviction of Paul (harry). As it turns out the wheel that squeaked the loudest was the most guilty of criminal behavior. Holding up their lies and un truths in the light of day did not stand the scrutiny of common sense.

Good job on the re post. We will all look back on this as a guide book on how effective permitting overcame irrational environmental concern.

All of the accusations and miss-quotes that were made by the Roses and their web site are all ( each and every one of them ) refutable if anyone wants to check out the actual documents. They skewed information and even made up their own wild versions of the actual information. We need to police their verbal abuse of the project and make sure they play by the same rules we have to. We have to work with the truth and they should be held accountable to do the same. With the process moving forward I'm sure they will return.
