I have to give them credit. Sixty miles in three days is a lot of walking. As I looked at the crowd walking, it is so apparent how out of shape most of the people are. I'd say one third are genuinely obese by my standards. The overweight and under exercised condition contributes to the disease and disease management. Still, one of the most athletic and thin women around was Alexa Kraft, who died of breast cancer at the age of 39. She could run a ten mile race on Saturday and run the Victor Glance Marathon on Sunday on Belle Isle (predecessor to the Freep Marathon).
