The Detroit Museum of Crime is available just across Telegraph or Eight Mile. I can't say it's free though. Sometimes the tuition is steep.

The jail millage, DIA millage and parks millage were heavily promoted by your buddy Kevin McNamara last fall and they all passed.

The jail helps build the $65 new jail.
The DIA helps build downtown sidewalks and park benches so cities don't have to spend their tax money as much.
The park millage will be used to place a monument to five dead fire and policemen dating back to 1929.

People had the ultimate choice in their vote for those taxes and you, the people, voted for them.

Vote NO on all taxes.

She was one of several and the Wayne County Commission agreed on it.

But to clarify some numbers. The $65 million in the news now is only the over-budget amount since ground breaking last fall. The entire project is $365 million now for 2,300 inmates. That amounts to $159K per inmate. You could have individual condos or houses for that cash. Let them eat rice and beans and live in tents.
