AS a long time fostermom myself I admire and take off my own hat to a dedicated and compasionate woman like Mimi. I know how challanging it is but the reward of making a child SMILE, is so worth it!

I see that the Marin IJ has yet again endorsed all the bond measures. Disgusting pimps wouldn’t you say! And this is supposed to be a credible news source?
Folks of San Rafael (and county-wide) are already feeling the pinch of rising inflation, increased property taxes and job uncertainty. It is our civil duty to ensure tomorrow (voting day is Tuesday) to ensure that the MEASURE G Bond of more taxes is voted down. It’s yet another $88 million to feed the pigs under the guise of police and firefighters. Didn’t they already get a huge BOND passes a few years ago?
The nerve of these tax and spend bureaucrats to ask for more taxes when many if not most are struggling to meet their property tax deadline in December and April—or simply put food on the table. No more TAXES and sneaky BOND measures. Time for less government and less spending. Remember--VOTE NO on G!

Maybe you should have stuck it out in the military or the other public employee job you once had. The military just got a 3.6 percent raise on top of the one they got last year. That will help with their pensions.

great story, what an angel she truly is. as a social worker with cps, i can tell you how incredibly important and rare amazing foster parents are. they are the life blood of the child welfare system, and without them i don't know where our children would be. mimi katz is truly an example of what and who a foster parent should be. not an easy job, but probably one of the most important jobs in the world.

Mimi Katz, you are a living, walking Angel who deserves only the best in life!!!

On the other hand my heart is sad for the children who have been abandoned. When will we require responsible parenting? I realize unexpected things happen in life but evolution would mean understanding how foolish choices affect innocent children. With contraception why are people having babies they cannot care for emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually? So heartbreaking for the children.

Again Mimi you are one in a million! May you have a long and healthy life!!!

It is so important for children to have a loving home. Especially after an abusive start. I have seen the abuse continue with Mimi. She puts down blacks and latinos openly in her home. Talks about childrens parents negatively in front of them. Makes fun of kids for being sad or for low grades when they were drug exposed in utero. Puts them down for being overweight. Puts them down to the point of deep emotional pain. Very innapropriate. This woman is far from being an angel.
