Perhaps Hymel thought it was just another "empty seat" he could cut! I can't wait until we find out the scoop on this, I'm sure there is a budget story there.

Please tell, why should Hymel go? What's your logic/argument?

It's about time! She was a useless piece of work.

What comes around goes around Ms. Armour....

The chaff being separated from the wheat. This is just the start of the process ... the grinding, grinding away of the obvious unnecessaries. BUT, it has started...albeit at the surface...with much more to be accomplished. Stay true to the insightful words of Robespierre before he was himself consumed by the revolution: "sympathy is treason".

I hope Ms. Armor believes in karma...or is it, "do unto others"....either way, she deserved to go..just the way she did!!

What a foolish euphemism: "was separated from employment with the county"

Since there are no details about why this woman was fired it's hard to know what's going on, but in general it's good to see government bureaucrats fired, especially from the HR department.

The reason(s) for Armor's firing will come out. And you can be sure that Hymel & the Board of Supervisors gave her a HEFTY severance package to avoid a lawsuit, which is totally WRONG. Plus, she will collect a cushy retirement having been a department head. Armor rubbed a lot of people the wrong way over the years, to put it mildly. She'll laugh all the way to the bank on this one.

The authority or governing body that "separated" the Director of Human Resources from employment" retains an ethical if not professional responsibility to disclose where the taxpayers were failed or under-served by the position of Director of Human Services.

Although personnel matters are protected from public disclosure under statute, disclosure of the failed goals, objectives, and essential functions of the position entrusted to the position is appropriate for public scrutiny.

How about the Chief County Administrator disclose what goals and objectives were setforth for the position of Director of Human Resources and what goals and objectives were met and not met.

This is about the position and performance, not the person or personality.

$167,000? In my little world, the position is overpaid. She was mainly
in charge of applications and testing. Do you think she showed favoritism,
or was it the omnipresent nepotism--that the county is guilty of?

Definitely favoritism -- I've heard every grievance against another department head came back unfounded.

She still made less than the retirement administrator.

Maybe they had to cut costs and so they all voted to oust the least popular person. It's a new program called the American Government idle.

If that were the case they would have goten the retirement board to get rid of that Charnel Benner piece of work.
