Hanging out on Ivanhoe Ave. How about the Engine House on Mills Ave, draft beer was $1 a gallon if you brought your own jug.

I remember those days. There was a lot of tension between Norwood and Evanston across the tracks. Does anyone remember Reading, Oh. back then and what the sign said as you entered the town?

I had to laugh at this. My dad worked at Country Kitchen in the 70's. Him and his kid brother. |

Had a friend who lived there, haven't seen him since 1973. Drank a lot of beer at the Norwood Cafe and the X Comune.

Hey thanks! I live back in Mount Vernon Ky now but I go up to Reading 3-4 times a year its about 150 miles from here.. My cousin also worked at Stearns & Foster back in the 70s. There was around seven of us from here living up there then I had the best times of my life in Reading, hanging out at White Castle on Friday & Saturday nights. If your ever at Gertz Pony Keg ask Bob if he knows anyone from Mount Vernon, Ky. I bet my name will be the first to come up. |
