If the diagnoses and repair is that easy. It would seem to me that Toyota should have made the connection with this Guy an his laptop computer. The flaw in the software or mechanics has to be corrected to stop the unnecessary death that have resulted.

You are correct.
Only problem is, Toyota knows they are eventually going to be forced to fix 8 million lemons. This will kill them. They are trying to prolong the inevitable as long as possible. Stick a fork in, the show is over.
