Many Norwich, VT residents are still without access to high speed internet. Despite the press, it's not true that Verizon has really come through. Verizon still refuses to offer highspeed internet service on New Boston Road, for example. Not only that, Verizon's phone lines are particularly old and dysfunctional on New Boston Road, which Verizon's repair people admit, but there are no plans to replace these lines. If they can't supply decent land line phone service to Norwich, they're certainly not going to offer full coverage broadband. I'd be happy to be proven wrong. I'm struggling with dialup speeds on Verizon lines that max out at 11.5 kbps. That's about 25% of the speed of normal dialup in other parts of Norwich.
