Look at this blotter. It's always the same. The cops here in stamford are disgraceful, looking to charge anyone wiht anything, grasping at straws. Watch the police blotters and see how often you see "breach of peace" along with other misdemeanors and crap. Did you know that you are committing breach of peace and THEY WILL ARREST YOU IN STAMFORD if you get into an argument with a stranger, give someone the finger out your car window, insult someone as in "Hey, are you stupid?" and the list is endless.
They do THIS while every pot hole filled in stamford requires the presence of between one and 5 TAXPAYER PAID POLICE OFFICERS TO STAND AROUND DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING?
These are disgraces that must be addressed by the NEXT mayor. ALONG with the rampant police brutality and ABUSES committed at will by the Stamford police.

Perhaps you have been arrested for doing some of the things you complained about in the above ranting post. Perhaps you should read the police blotter a little closer. I would not want the people mentioned in that blotter doing the things they were cited for around my children or grandchildren. Public indecency, drugs, intoxication, etc. are not appropriate in any town, not only Stamford. If all of those incidents were committed in Stamford, looks like there are a lot of Norwalk residents coming to Stamford to act like idiots. Go Stamford Police and Police Officers everywhere.

No law anywhere in Connecticut against squatters unless they are actually trespassing. You have to go through housing court in Norwalk to have them evicted. Does take a few months, but eventually it's effective.

Having served on the fair rent commission in New Haven years ago, the laws have definitely tipped the scales toward the renters.

Unfortunately, BptPoPo is right: the laws are heavily stacked in favor of "tenants," and anyone without a strong stomach for a fight and a good lawyer should not be a renter. Forget morals: there are people out there who stiff landlords serially as a way of life. If you can't navigate the court system by yourself, then suck it up and pay a lawyer to do it for you.

This is one reason why the cost of living in CT is so high: the existing statutes are prohibitive to the would-be renter, which constricts the supply of available rental housing, driving the cost up.

In the meantime, check this out. Good luck.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Virgo

Words are flying around in all directions today, and the conversations will be fast and furious. You might face a lot of distractions and interruptions, or you could get caught up in some rather irritable slanging matches with a certain person. The busier you are, the more fraught you'll become and the more likely to go off the deep end.
