Wouldn't you figure that it's more-sensible to take an 8% cut and still HAVE a job while you're looking for a BETTER one than to have NO job and be looking for ANOTHER one? Even the TEAMSTERS signed-off on it, and you know how fussy THEY are.

But this is what happened:

"BCTGM members are well aware that as the company was preparing to file for bankruptcy earlier this year, the then CEO of Hostess was awarded a 300 percent raise (from approximately $750,000 to $2,550,000) and at least nine other top executives of the company received massive pay raises. One such executive received a pay increase from $500,000 to $900,000 and another received one taking his salary from $375,000 to $656,256."

So, who's screwing who?

agree..........but it has ALWAYS been this way. the top of the pyramid always watches out for itself. most ceo, cfo's are grossly overpaid in ALL businesses, heck even charities..........this does not surprise me at all.

The CEO's are totally screwing the workers, not only in this company, but most others as well. PapaJohn's pizza, a multibillion dollar company, said that it would have to cut worker hours and benefits because Obamacare was going to cost them ann additional 8 million ddollars a year. Yet they can afford to give away 2 million pizza's as part of a promotion. What is more important, taking care of your employees, who make you the money in the first place, or free pizza?

Quote your source for this or else, for all we know and no direct offense intended, we can justifiably assume that you're just talking out of your @$$.

I blame the CEO for receiving too much money, give some of it to the employees, now. Lynne is correct.

Interesting article; written by the striking union though...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrrhic_victory
A Pyrrhic victory is a victory with such a devastating cost that it carries the implication that another such victory will ultimately lead to defeat. Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has been victorious in some way; however, the heavy toll negates any sense of achievement or profit.

If it wasn't for UNIONS you wouldn't have:
-a 5 day- fourty hour work week azzhole
-paid holidays azzhole
-medical benefits azzhole
-paid vacation azzhole

Keep following the rest of the sheep blaming Unions for Americas problems...follow along with the brainwashing the media and politicians are feeding you.

Over a million minimum wage workers were FORCED to go to work this year on Thanksgiving due to more corporate greed because they were not unionized. Keep shopping at WalMart, Home Depot and all of the other big box stores that sell all the cheap Chinese CRAP because the Republicans AND DEMOCRATS sold out America with NAFTA and GAT so these corporate giants could shovel more money in their pockets and screw the middle class. "Oh it's the Unions fault"...BULL$4!+ it is...it's the politicians and the greedy corporate giants that who bought them off, that's whose fault it is. And it's probably your fault!!!

How many American small business' have been destroyed by these Corporate Giants? Lumber yards, Hardware stores, Grocery stores and Pharmacy's??? All owened by people who were trying to support their families. But IDIOTS like you flocked to the Home Depots, Walgreens and the like and now there aren't any places to buy decent hardware or a straight piece of lumber. Go to Walgreens or CVS and try to ask a Pharmacist a question, I dare you.

I'm not saying their aren't any abuses by Unions or individual workers, there are azzholes everywhere. Want to see one LOOK IN THE MIRROR you ignorant fool.

BTW, you freedom is being protected by our brave American fighting men and women flying in UNION MADE AIRCRAFT using UNION MADE GUNS so suck on that a while.

Another proud Walmart shopper no doubt, if they successfully kill off the Unions. jerks like you will be next. We will be the first generation of Americans to go backwards on standard of living for our kids. But I'm sure if you still get to use your Stop & Shop card for additional (phoney) savings it will be A.O.K. with you...that is until your rug gets pulled out, then you'll be sitting there waiting for the nanny state to wipe your azz!!! Sorry about my grammer, I went to trade school so I could WORK for a living, I'll bet your Mommy and Daddy supported you while you went to college to improve your grammer. BTW, what do you do for work? Do you actually make anything or are you just another middleman skimming off the back of the working man?

And that Ladies and Gentleman is how you make the monkey chase the banana..Knows nothing about me but manages to launch personal attacks to re-enforce his/her viewpoint..No logic ,no Intelligence, just knee jerk Union talking points..I watched you union do it's best to put Bridgeport Machine out of Business..Strike failed the first day when 40% crossed but you Goons kept it up for 7 weeks..Didn't end until your coke freak leaders shorted out the power to St. Vincents and the National pulled it's support as the FBI arrived, I was working with my hands before you were born,my Father and Grandfather before me..I'm with the employees who told it like it is "we don't want you ..go away"..now dance monkey... dance.Maybe go back and tell me about Samaul Gompers(look him up)..I'll tell you about my grandfather (a toolmaker) with a six grade education..He could form an argument not just smear or name call his adversary..But thats Ok..Key cars in the parking lot..Throw roofing nails in the road..Visit peoples homes and tell them what pretty kids they have..now..block traffic to non involved people and businesses..You are lucky to be one of the survivors at the plant..Ask how many of you there were 15 years ago..Figure out the trend yourself

Samaul Gompers? You mean Samuel Gompers of the AFL? Sorry, I don't have to look him up or George Meanie for that matter. I won't get in a debate with you because people like you are a bigger problem than the "evil labor unions", you are sheep...so while this monkey dances you can go baaaaaah, baaaaah and follow the rest of your kind off the cliff of what once was a great nation!

I renounce that type of behavior and disagree with the SMALL MINORITY that have taken part in those types of criminal acts. Although I'm sure you think it was OK when they clubbed and turned the firehoses on my father and uncles when they peacefully picketed AVCO in the 60's.
