Here is the FACTS in a nutshell, so I don't see a win here but thanks for wasting the time of the Board of Veterans Appeals. I fear what will come next if this case wins. Don't forget the gay community is known as...
Gay, Lesbian and Transgender...

The VA benefits law indicates that for purposes of veterans' benefits a spouse is defined as a "person of the opposite sex who is a wife or husband." The Board of Veterans Appeals relied upon this law rather than the Defense of Marriage Act in ruling that Cardona's same-sex partner could not be considered a spouse for benefits purposes.

Well to me it's a wates of $$$$ and WHO cares - the DOD says they can be gay and so the rules will have to change = fact:

I do not care who is gay or stright and to me it's a wast of time to post such story cause all it does is start fights and more problems!
I say be who you are and do your services you signed up for!

I see your point here. I agree but it just scares me the way things are going. I am sure my fears will be alleviated in the future but just reading this post makes me wonder. I will stop wondering and start pushing to get a vet in office!
