Norvell police officers should be fired. They do nothing but harass the same few individuals every day.Atleast they know how people feel about them now that the millage did not pass for their fundings.

I agree with the previous post. Why should we pay for the local police to sit beside the road and write tickets? The township board is proud of the fact that Norvell is known as a speed trap, and they depend on the cops to write tickets to help fund the police dept. There's no real crime in Norvell so the police don't have anything else to do but write tickets. The township board tries to scare the public by saying the homeowner's insurance will increase, but it's NOT TRUE. Ask your insurance agent.

I do not agree with the previous posts. Granted, there is not a lot of crime in Norvell but what residents are not understanding is that Norvell does not just cover our little town, we cover a lot more area. We have been having break-ins and people stealing gas lately. But let me just call the police and wait for hours for another office to take the call because ours are not on duty or we have no police. No thanks! Remember the man who got his arm cut off and because we have two streets with the same name, no one could find him? Was Norvell on? Bet they could have just looked at the name and known. I prefer a more personal basis and I have never had problems when I needed them. I however had an incident with a dog bite that I had to call about, Norvell officers had been cut hours and no one was on. I waited almost a half hour for the police with my daughter bleeding. Thankfully only two stitches but I had to leave to take her before the police from county could get here because that was all that was covering close to here. I like living in a small town with no crime. To be honest, everyone watches out for everyone and we all know the cops so I believe that is why there is less crime. Wait until we have no police and try leaving your doors unlocked at night!

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Virgo

Home is where your heart is, so stay there today if you can. Surround yourself with your loved ones, even if you're all slumped on the sofa in front of the TV. If you love cooking, you'll get sweet satisfaction from shutting yourself in the kitchen, and either producing a delicious meal or creating some Christmas food that can live in the freezer till you need it.
