Does anyone feel as though that when Alpha has a big layoff in swva cumb. will get the worst end of it and paramont come through ok?

At the rate Alpha is losing money they might completely go out of business. Alpha must be losing money on every ton of coal they produce. It's a mess.

Back 3-4 years ago cumb. could have pulled through almost any type of bad times,it was rock solid. It's hard to stomach the mess they have been put into, they were and still could have been very profitable. Some people just are not as smart as they think they are.

The current management at Alpha are complete clueless failures. Hopefully Crutchfield and the current management at Alpha will be gone soon...before they drive ANR out of business.

I would really like it if someone could explain how it went from going to bristol races and NEVER having to worry about being layed off to unprofitable and layoffs.(contractors so far)Seriously what's the deal? And I don't want to hear coal prices, cumb. would have found a way to get by before.A thing I have noticed is there seems to be as many people at the offices as at the mines.

I think what is hurting Cumberland Res. is that so many utilities are switching from coal to natural gas. There is really nothing much anyone can do about that. If Cumberland was still owned by the Gilliams they would be dealing with the same problems as Alpha. And the worst is still to come.

It makes sense to me that they would take care of their Paramont workers over the Cummberland people. The Paramont people were with the company first. Let's just all pray for no layoffs!
