Oh the humanity!

This wouldn't be necessary if postal management would just listen to a few suggestions. They keep telling the carriers that mail volume is down and routes are being abolished. Therefore, postmasters need to step up. Instead of a postmater at each office, why not give a postmaster several offices to manage and replace all the other postmasters with clerks, either full or part-time, part-time operations would be better than none. If you look at the numbers, which all management does any more, this would save the small offices, and a ton of money.

Your article might want to explain what a "CBU" is. And I think it is really a NDCBU.
Either way, the only customer the PO cares about anymore, is the big business mailer. I've worked for the PO for 20+ years as a rural carrier. It used to be a great job where you were treated decent and the people we delivered to were the most important aspect of our job. Not anymore. The PO doesn't care about YOU or ME. Just the big mailer. Wish us all luck, we're gonna need it. |

Many tiny offices should have been closed decades ago. The PO now needs to do things it would not do in the past in order to survive and give the overpaid employees something to whine about. All carriers, rural & city, can be cut by 40% simply by giving them two routes. Volume is so low now they would have no problem delivering 1 part of town M/W/F and another T/T/S. Business needs no more than 5 day delivery and residential needs no more than 3 days a week. Simply requiring employees to work 8 hours for 8 hours pay could reduce carrier hours by 12%- 15%.

The PM position probably was never posted so the District could close it.
Just another excuse to reduce service to the people. A mandate from our constitution says otherwise and no one fights for it. |

Captain Jack is a corporate mailer that wants to control your mail folks. He'd charge you $1 just to take your letter.

This is what happens when government runs things they go broke. Social security next? But don't worry because Obamas throwing huge amounts of money at making the government bigger so we can count on it. So you can pay taxes to pay someone twice what they deserve for a job that is not needed. How I love hope to get one of these freeloader jobs. Not saying those who work them are guilty of anything. Health care can't wait to see how government operates that.
