But you say can that now in the aftermath of what happened on Monday. That's what I mean when I say hindsight. The gal at the tux shop didn't have that advantage that you now have. It was yet to happen. It's easy to say "yeah, she should have known" but neither you nor I were in her shoes. And she did after all place the call, even if it should have been sooner. Let's give her a break.
Here's my logic:
Situation 1: Guy comes in says he's the emperor and today is his day. No weapon seen.
Reaction: Show him to the door. Don't call police.
Situation 2: Guy comes in, says he's the emperor and today is his day. Knife and Gun visible.
Reaction: Rent the tux, call the police asap.
That's all I think we are saying here.
