Now they have to investigate how he started the fire.

Was it a BIC (tm)?
Was it a child proof BIC(tm)?
Was it a Kricket(tm)?
Was it a Zippo (tm)?
Was it a wooden match(tm)?

Then they will start a campaign to ban both HIGH and low capacity fire making items.

Sad, but when people are going to attempt to do damage to themselves and others, they don't necessarily need a gun.

If only we can determine WHY people are SO TROUBLED that they feel the need to do such damage to themselves and possibly others.

This is very, very, very sad.

Why would a high school student even be allowed to have fire?

The dopers and dope pushers in Colorado caused this. Marijuana's hallucinogenic properties inevitably cause totally insane behavior. The only relevant thing about pot is that it is the best way to manage Munchhausen's Syndrome so the lazy pot heads can continue receiving their disability money.

This is horrible!
It's time for the Federal Government to outlaw fire.
Too many people have died in fires -- arson and accidental.
At least ensue only licensed people have access to fire.
Think of the children!

Apparently, the so-called "journalists" and their editor at this news source are pot heads and high on dope. A story about a young man setting himself on fire suddenly morphs into a long, irresponsibly confused, meandering story about Columbine, kidnaps and killers and other gun related incidents of the past. How do these potheads get away with such nonsense and thought disorders. Plus, the morons are PAID for this type of irresponsible nonsense!
