strange stuff left behind

Full story: Akron Beacon Journal

Melanie Craddock walked out of a side office carrying an old shoe box. Inside, curled up in a ball and covered with a few cobwebs, was a cat skeleton, its bony tail sticking out over the side.

Nice to see you and this company think it's all so funny and "interesting." You have a story to tell from the suffering of these people and animals though -- that's all that matters to you right? It couldn't just be about the donations.

''It shows how bad the economy really is.''
My take on this story....It shows how sick and twisted people can be. Dead cats, decapitatd dogs, human feces everywhere...what does this have to do with the economy?

Exactly-I agree with both of the above comments as well that said "$ matters, lives don't," and "why would you even print this?" There is not one bit of compassion or care in this story -- and to follow that up, no thought was given to the unsuspecting reader, no "warning - this may be disturbing."
Nice to donate the things, but to me it's all been tarnished by the extreme lack of heart.

I do not find the story funny, but is is interesting why people leave certain things behind. Sounds to me like you need to see a Doctor.

I would be calling animal cruelty or whoever needs to be called if I find dead animals in the home of a person who is foreclosed on.
You owned & lived in the house means YOU were/are responsible for the contents inside. Period.

Evicted people don't give a d*mn about the property as they leave it. They destroy everything as they leave the house. That's why I no longer have rental properties. I spent more time with lawyers and money fixing up the rental properties for the next renter then I was making in money.

Definitely - those people should pay for that in one form or another. I wonder what they would get though, probably just a slap on the hand.

Glad the ABJ ran this article. It shows how devastating losing one's home can be, people do some pretty crazy things.

"add a positive spin" are you kidding me? these people have lost their homes. what about the people who hit hard times and the banks wouldn't help them.

This story sucked! It's sad that people lose their homes that they worked so hard to get. It's sad that dead animals are found in these foreclosed homes. Is anything done to the previous owners for that? Doubt it! Print something worth reading. Write some happy stories for a change!

SICK PEOPLE DO THIS:

"There was the man who was too lazy to get off the couch to use the bathroom. He used buckets and balloons to relieve himself, leaving them on the living room floor."

"There was the elderly woman who locked her cats in the attic to starve them to death. They left claw marks on the door in a mad attempt to get out."

"There was the dog's body, its head missing, found on the kitchen floor. The head was in a pot cooking on the stove."

I don't feel sorry for all of the people who had their homes in foreclosure. Yes Im aware of the people who had medical problems or lost their job. But it takes awhile for a home to be foreclosed on. So If you can't get off your butt and find a job then you deserve to loose your job. I do feel sorry for the people who feel on hard times. With a death of a spouse or severe medical problems. Something along that line.

My best friend has her house in foreclosure. she just stopped paying because she wanted to move to florida. its been a year and a half and her dad is still living in that house with no running water, no heat or electricity.

I used to work for a cleaning service and sometimes we had to do cleanups like that. It's quite disturbing. I've found dead rats, cats and dogs. Feces. Not sure if it was human or animal. Condoms, money, drugs, a carseat, toys. You name it, Ive probably seen it.

I have had no problem with mine. This is why you do background checks on people and you can choose who to rent to or who not to rent to. If the background is shady or the credit is bad, I don't rent to them.

Oh that is easy to answer. What does it have to do with the ecomomy? Well, it sucks! Notice that in the last 7 years it has gotten worse? I wonder why that is?

those people need to be tracked down and criminally charged for animal cruelty...they need to be punished in THIS life as they will be punished in the next...there is NO excuse for animal abuse....

My point exactly SD! And the economy, be it good or bad, did not make them this way.
