Saw on the news tonight how the CRDA and a bunch of other panic stricken folks in AC, now that Labor Day has come and gone, are trying to come up with creative ways to reel em' in during he Fall and Winter, when that city dies.
They first have to "study" what is preventing and chasing people away, then worry about creative ways to try to get back what they lost, this do to their stupidity! Over 30 years of casino industry and a cornor on the market and all of a sudden, the town is falling on it's ass. Wha hoppin'? Can you hear that one in these meetings?

My wife and I would go to AC back in the 90's and would win periodically. We were happy with that. Then in the 2000's almost never. It was pointless going, might as well toss the money out the car window. It just wasn't fun anymore. Let people win and they will continue to come. Sent many emails and nobody cared.

Getting to AC was a flipping nightmare. Traffic, Traffic and more Traffic and forget about it in the summer time. Sent many emails to the AC city council providing solutions to the NJ traffic crisis. No Response. No Action.

More and more studies proving the hazards of second hand smoke and people were just sick of going healthy and coming home with smoke related illnesses and clothes that you had to bury in the back yard they smelled so bad. Even the dog couldn't stand the smell when we got home. AC failed with a half-cocked idea of a smoking ban that pissed both the smokers and non-smokers off.
Delaware went 100% smoke free at their Casinos and non-smokers said the hell with AC and we never win anyways and the added traffic, FORGET ABOUT AC!!!

Crime, crime, crime and the boardwalk that reeked of piss, homeless and panhandlers.

Expanded gaming in West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Penn, NY, CT. Who needs AC and all its problems. I just prefer to spend my money in my own smoke free state and drive less than an hour. That's our JACKPOT!!!

Thank you for validating my (many) points I have posted on TOPIX. I know that the truth hurts, but God damn, get off the dime and on the meat and DO SOMETHING, no just DOAC, for Christ's sake! People are loosing jobs, the city is going to hell in a handbasket and Langford just lets it happen. Brillant!!! More gripes, like yours, MAY cause the drumbeaters in that town to wake up and smell the coffee, I hope!

Good Luck Josh, I sent so many letters(before email) and then emails explaining the future problems AC was facing back around the late 90's early 2000's to all the City Council members, the Mayor and the Atlantic City Press, the NJ governors office, etc. I really cared about AC and its future. Some wrote back understanding but they did absolutely nothing. It was so obvious they couldn't care less and the Casinos were lining their pockets keeping them as their little puppets. I just gave up, and guess what? AC will continue to attract the foreign tourists for a while until they too wake up and go to Vegas or the new Super Mega Casino that will be built near our nationís capital. It's sad to say that my wife and I, our adult families and friends won't be going back to AC for a long time. Maybe for New Years Eve as one of their guests, but lately I've even turned them down.

People may think me a little harsh when it comes to my posts about Atlantic City, but posts, like yours, validate what I have been saying, all along.
I get no kick out of seeing a city I grew up in go down the pot the way it has, for years, until I simply said, after being robbed five times, among other things that had happened to me when I lived there and said screw it, this city is not worth another dime of my taxpayer dollars, especially when you see mayor, after mayor after mayor, go to jail and other clowns in city government, who line their pockets and the hell with the people who live there. They just serve the purpose of relecting these thiefs and keeping them in office and money, they steal. Damn shame!!! No wonder the State has to look over their shoulder!
