This was a very accurate and moving story. I knew Madeline and grew up with her in Christy Park. Our mom's were friends and neighbors and strong women of faith as well. Our families were virtually close and have managed to keep in touch over the years. Madeline contacted me and supported me with her quick wit, words of encouragement and prayers during my own bout with cancer recently, and for that I was extremely thankful.
It's no wonder that Madeline was such a remarkable and caring person. Through the "hard knocks" of life, she continued to find the strength to press on and make a difference. She raised quite a remarkable son, and never hesitated telling anyone about him. I know that I feel blessed having had the opportunity to know her personally. She will be sorely missed.
