So what are these people supposed to do about their bills if their not getting paid for 2 months? Last I knew, the utility companys & banks want their money regardless of your situation. And how are they supposed to feed their families? And we're supposed to expect them to put their lives on the line for free the next couple months? I dont think so. Looks like N. Versailles is going down the toilet.....

Has there been any thought about transferring dispatch duties to the County 911 center? NVT is one of the last few remaining municipalities still paying to run its own dispatch center instead of using the County 911 center at no cost. Seems like some money could be saved there.....

those stupid f*cking commissioners dont know where the money is because they dont know how to do their jobs right, they need to be booted and new commissioners need to be put in who actually know what they are doing, i personally know most of the NVPD and the situation is extremely messed up!

Today, our local government’s ability to effectively manage our Township is in question. Ineptness, lies, thieves, and cheats rule the day while the local population generally turns an indifferent blind eye. The residents of this town need to step up and make sure these idiots don't get voted in again!
Also, 911 is not the answer. NVT has a good dispatch system and dispatchers that know the area inside and out. The PD response times are fantastic and I credit that to the dispatch. I am glad that NVT still runs their own dispatch center, because personally I am not fond w/911.

What a surprise. Check the advocates of the
Dispatch center and Police dept. You will find
they are all relatives, spouses, or next door
neighbors of those organizations.

I agree with What a Surprise. There's no reason why 911 couldn't work in North Versailles. I work for an agency that went from a local center to 911 several years ago; and while there's always growing pains at first; the 911 center does do a great job in my opinion.
And there's other benefits as well--for example, the fire department's radios currently use antiquated frequencies from about 50 years ago. A move to 911 would enable them utilize a higher frequency with much better range and be on the same system as their neighboring departments.

Surprise, not everyone are neighbors, friends or relatives. The majority of their police Officers and dispatchers aren't originally from the Twp.
MTS, I should of known that you are a fire whacker 911 supporter.

The system works, plain and simple. It works for the other 100+ municipalities in the county that use it, it works in the other counties across PA, and it works in the rest of the nation as well.

Nice to know your feelings toward the North Versailles fire departments. Yes, I do support 911. If it can enable the FD to better their equipment, why knock it?

I was concerned with a rumor I've heard and wonder if anyone here knew if there was any truth in it. Is it true that the NVPD are suing the township federally? Does this even further bankrupt our township and raise my taxes. I know the officers deserve their pays but what happens when a financially failing Township gets sued by their employees.

I think the idea of suing the township is not to further damage the financial structure of the township, but to get the wages that they deserve. They work hard to protect the township residents/businesses etc... and shouldn't have to put their lives on the line for free. Banks, utility companies etc...do not care that they are not getting paid, they want their money or will take their homes etc...
