According to the article by Maria Sisti, she said that this 12-year girl was allegedly attacked and assaulted. It didn't specifically say that she was raped. However, it did say that she wasn't physically hurt..How do you attack and assault a child without doing physical harm? If rape was involved, then she certainly was physically injured. I know it's early and we'll know more later.

My heart goes out to her and her family. Let's catch this SOB...and fast!

I know the family. She was fondled by this sicko and he made her touch him. That was the assault. Although it is classified as an assault, she has no physical injuries.

Can't we just execute dudes like this with a bow & arrow and make sure the braod head is nice and dull! I would bet my quad that this dude has a prior for some kind of child endangerment!

This is a perfect reason why vacant homes need to be addressed.

check the sex offender registry when the guy is caught & I would not be surprised to see him there. there are so many that slip thru the system that it's obscene. I know of one that has molested pre teen and teen girls for yrs and has done a whopping 2 months in jail. last time he got PROBATION and that was with giving the girl drinks and pain pills. he is on the registry but only for the ONE time he served for it. I hope the law catches up to the guy in North Tonawanda and also the one I mentioned here

I agree with Liz I can't believe that someone in this neighborhood, especially at that time didn't see anything. If you did PLEASE report it so this doesn't happen to your child. I have two small girls and I live very close to that area. I have called my sitter and instructed her to NOT let them out of her sight

message to the sicko- the police may want you alive but i don't come near one of my kids and it is me and you that will settle it. i am tired of these freaks being let go. a guy with a number of dwi's just got 60 years and a freak like this can walk away by putting his name on a list- there's justice.

I use to live three doors down from that house. It is only 2 blocks from Oliver Street as well. We had a number of issues when we lived in the neighborhood but nothing to that extent. I wondered why the police were so thick in NT this morning.

My thoughts are with the family and my hatred toward the assailant.

Why does it take something like this to happen for us to take the proper measures to protect the children. When I walked out of school we had an "army" of teachers standing there watching us leave along with parents that finally woke up and realized things like this do happen. On a normal day there are possibley two to three teachers standing out there, we had a far larger number there today. The parking lot full of parents that finally care enough to get up and pick their child up from school. It bothers me to extrordinary lengths that it took an occurance like this one in a place close to us for people to react. It should make no difference whether it happens near or far from you, take those measures to protect your children. You should not be able to see the reaction to something like this, there should always be a great number of parents waiting to pick their child up and should always be teachers watching us leave incase of a child is left waiting for their ride home. Why does it have to happen near you for you to react?

the sad part of this is the mockery that will come from immature kids in the middle school. While walking home from the highschool today, i witnessed a group of girls who were laughing and screaming insulting comments about the situation while walking home from the middle school. I am fearful of our upcoming youth because it seems to me that they become less and less respectful and considerate to serious situations such as this.

No one saw anything, at 7am and a man wearing a mask? I hope this isn't a young girl crying wolf for attention, but on the other had I guess deep down I hope she is. Having two small children I hate to think of this happening. My heart goes out to her & her family.

I think its sad that this had to happen to a child so close to Easter. Its also sad that this terrible incident had to happen to a child for our police officers to wake up and do their jobs.
