My husband and I decided on pizza the other night. Usually when we go in to eat at Pizza Hut the service is lousy, the food is horrible, and the people who work there are rude, out of touch, and not helpful. We were debating whether to eat at Pizza Plus or Pizza Hut, since there's not many good dine-in restaurants in this town. We're on a tight budget and can't afford to go to the nicer restaurants in Bluefield and Princeton.

When we got to Pizza Hut we were greeted at the door by a tall man with purple hair and we just knew the service was going to be bad. We was going to get the buffet but the food didn't look so great, so we decided to order off the menu and get one of their $10.00 pizzas. We hardly ever order off the menu since the last time we ate something off the menu we had a long wait and when we did get our food it was cold, plus the waitress was rude.

But I must say, our waiter who served us the other night was amazing. Purple might not be a good choice for hair color, but he was very polite, very friendly, and served us well. That was the first time we didn't have to call a waiter's attention. He had our drinks on time, always had a refill for us when we needed one, brought extra napkins, and brought our hot and delicious pizza over 15 minutes after taking our order. The pizza was incredible- a first time in awhile. And on top of the great service and food quality, the people who work there were very friendly and showed great hospitality; made my husband and I feel welcomed, rather than rushed.

Normally, from reading the treads and hearing word of mouth that Pizza Hut has a bad reputation...and to be honest, I do understand why from past experiences eating from there, I must say something must be changing. The waiter was great, the service was great, the food was phenomenal, and my husband and I had a wonderful experience.

WOW...now that's hard to believe. Really!!! My family and I went to eat there about 4 or 5 nights ago and our waitress was rude. They need to hire people who actually care and don't act like they hate their job so much. She came across like we were bothering her when all we asked for were refills and extra napkins. She got our drinks for us but...yeah, that's all she managed to get for us was our drinks. At least she got that right. For the most part we had to wait on ourselves. By the end of our meal we waited for our ticket, but she never walked by nor asked us if we would like our bill and we ended up having to go up to the front counter to get our ticket. But it gets so much better. We ended up waiting 5 minutes at the front counter because nobody was at the front counter to cash us out. They need to watch their foul mouths because a group of girls were talking and using foul language in front of us, my kids, and other customers. We had a not so "wonderful" time. We never got a "thank you", "sorry for the wait", we apologize", "come again", and the food was crap. So Betty, you were there on a good day, but it still doesn't mean the place is a great place to eat. All that tells you is that they hired someone who knows how to do his job the way their supposed too.

this is more than likely her first job and she probably has come straight from school not eaten and has worked several hours non-stop, hears nothing but negative complaints from customers, is trying to help other workers keep things running and is worried if the boss notices when she makes mistakes, or she might have been new and just learning. working at a restraunt is not easy and sometimes people screw up or have an off day, perhaps this was the case. i have eaten there many times only once can i say i was disappointed only because the place was busy and i couldnt get chicken legs at the bar other than that no complaints. if you were so put out why didnt you complain? a manager would have spoken with you immediately and any issues im sure could have been resolved or you can go online and report them. in your opinion what restraunt around here or the nearby areas do you consider great? i like ryans and longhorn steak house.

I don't usually comment to posts made by people on Topix, nor do I normally care to get involved in the immaturity nor the drama that's involved on Topix. But "Not_So_Good"- your comment made me laugh. You get that everywhere you go. It's not just Pizza Hut, but you get it at Pizza Plus, Italian Village, Applebee's, Bob Evan's, and any other place around this area. Most people hate their jobs, and servers got it bad, especially when their only making around $3 to $5 an hour. I'm 42 years old and I remember serving back in the day when I'd bust my hump for 8 hours making about $150.00 a paycheck and the tips I did make I had to "tip-out". I'm not sure if you understand that "tip-out" method companies use. Basically, they don't want to pay their employees so servers basically pay their own salary ranging on the amount of tips they make. Here's an example:

When I served I was making $2.13 an hour and the minimum wage back then was $6.55 per hour. So I worked a 30 hour week job. I'd make around $40.00 a night in tips. So exciting...not really, it was depressing. And this is why-$6.55 an hour equals out to about $196.50 before taxes. I was making $2.13 an hour so that's about $63.90 before taxes. So the $40.00 I made in tips was added onto my pay salary so that's about $150-$200 a week to live on that I was basically paying myself. Not to mention at the end of the year when it came time to do my taxes I had to pay back around $300.00-$400.00 from the tips I claimed throughout the year.

So don't be downing servers and talking trash. And as far as the workers go try working fastfood for once and actually stick with it. I guarantee you that from the sounds of it you've never worked fastfood a day in your life. They have to deal with rude people like you and many others on a daily basis. And if you hate the place so bad why do you keep eating there?

What server? Are you talking about the girly queer that serves there? It makes sense since he is the only guy that ever serves there. My friends and I went in there a few weeks ago and was hoping to get served by this hot girl who usually serves us but we got stuck with the queer. He was so annoying. Every 10 minutes asking us if we needed refills and asking if we wanted to make any special requests for the bar...I kept telling the queer to go away. We ended up serving ourselves. I refuse to be waited on by a sissified girl wannabe. Plus, I didn't want him to handle my food since everyone knows you can get AIDS from a queer. Pizza Hut should do a good thing and fire the queer. Maybe than we, especially me, could feel more comfortable eating there without the queer there. Sick! Why would anybody choose to be a queer. The guy was probably molested and a total loser and can't land a girl so he resorts to guys.

Who are you? You sound clueless and uneducated, not to mention a complete idiot. First of all gay people are not called "queers" their called either gay or homosexual. Second of all, you can't get AIDS from eating food that is handled by someone who is gay or straight. AIDS is a sexually transmitted disease meaning you can only get it from having unprotected sexual intercourse. Companies, such as Pizza Hut and any other companies don't discriminate against someone who is of a different race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, etc. so in your opinion they should "fire" him because he's different? If you're uncomfortable around gay people than why not eat elsewhere?
I think what you need to do is actually have a conversation with someone who is gay and you'll be surprised that they're no different than anybody else. At least he's working hard for the little pay he's probably making and dealing with homophobic @[email protected] like you. I have a lot of gay and lesbian friends and their not on the prowl trying to convert straight people. They have jobs, they go to school, they have families, they pay bills, they have friends, different views and beliefs, etc. They're just like anybody else. You have feminine gay men and masculine gay men. You have feminine lesbians and masculine lesbians. I, myself, am a bisexual woman. And no, people don't choose to be a certain way, talk a certain way, act a certain way, dress a certain way, walk a certain way. And although I have no idea who this person is I applaud him for being who he is especially around an area such as this.
Most of the gay women and men I know and are friends with around this area keep themselves in the closet, pretend to be someone their not, and are living a lie to protect themselves, protect their families, their jobs, etc. and sacrificing their happiness because of people like you. It's okay if you think it's sick. That's your idiotic opinion. I think people whoring around for attention is sick, but I'm not judging those people. They can sleep with whomever they choose to do it with.
