Stop acting like a little baby. It's time to grow up and take responsibilty for your actions. Money can't buy your way out. I hope that you never have to go through the pain that our family is going through. I miss my cousin Tug and wish he was here today.

Seriously Kyle, I am here for you. These parents of all the teens need to grow up and realize that none of their children are all raised yet and they could do the same thing. It was a ACCIDENT move on! Sue's brother killed my best friends uncle at a very young age and did they take it to COURT?? NO!!! Because its lie and it was an ACCIDENT. so all those immature people our there need to grow up. Why wasn't the car driven by the actualy driver?? OHH I forgot they were all drunk and by the way not one of those teens were innocent during their HS years I graduated with them and they all did POT and were DRUNK all the time.. I SAW it for my own eyes...And who was going to drive the car when moeller went to go get his?? THATS right!! A drunken person too. SO GROW up! Kyle and Nick you mean the world to me and are just as innocent as those boys... Im here for you 100%!

What kind of person are you? You are telling 4 sets of parents to you quote "move on"? Are you kidding me? These parents lost their children! When and if you have children, I can guarentee you just don't "move on" after you lose one.
Very few people are innocent in HS - I wasn't either, however I never killed 4 people. Your right... It was an accident, now these two will have to pay for their actions for causing that accident! As far as you standing behind them, good for you, we all need something to believe in. I'm sure they will thank you... lord knows they are going to need it!

You know I do have kids of my own and I am not expecting them to be perfect kids, but I would lay them to rest and grieve but I wouldn't destroy this community like those mothers all have. They have supported drinking, those boys have smokes drugs, I have seen it with my own eyes. I am from Mercer County Proud of it, but these parents are taking it to far. They need to raise their other children that could have the same accident that Nick did and it will come to Haunt them. I hope it does. They are immature parents that need to not take things so far because their children are not close to be raised at all. In fact some of them drink and drive their selves. Its amazing what you know from first hand experience. Those boys in the car were guilty equally. They weren't driving their own car.

I don't know who the hell you are but I knew those four boys and as "guilty" as they may have been, I know for a fact that they would have had the heart to check the other car to make sure the passengers were ok! Nick and Kyle acted totally selfish and were only concerned with themselves. NOT ONCE did they feel guilty or bad enough to check on my friends Brad, Tug, Diller, or Jordan.

hey all, Everyone needs Kyle and Nick have received what they deserve, according to the judge. And the 4 boys were innocent, they were just getting home from college. All I know is the 4 boys are dead and the two that killed them are still alive, where is the justice in that? I feel for all the parents of those boys.

I have to say I am a little astonished as to your comment. I too was from Mercer County, I graduated from Marion, in fact am a first cousin to one of the deceased boys parents. So I know plenty of first hand experiences. There are plenty of people out there who have had a few beers and then drove home. I am one of them, yes it is wrong and luckily I never got caught. HOWEVER, I can honestly say I have never drank, smoked pot and did cocaine and then drove home. The boys in the other car were not equally quilty - they did the smart thing and had a sober person drive home. To say that is absolutely ridiculous! Again, this was a terrible accident where no one wins. Nick is still alive, but the quality of life he will is also sadly over.
The parents did not destroy the community - this accident did. Let me re-phrase that, Nick did. To bash the parents like you are doing is disrespectful and unforgiveable! It is time to heal for everyone. And Nick's dad in the courtroom today... to say that everyone from Marion Local does drugs and his son is no different than anyone else? So wrong. Bet you didn't know that by "first hand experience" did you?

Mr. Schweiterman will spend 24 years in prison as a result in this accident. Mr. Schmitmeyer should spend every waking moment the next 24 years reflecting on his actions knowing that right or wrong, he escaped any meaningful prosecution while his friend will not see the light of day again as a free man for 2 1/2 decades. Although I believe that this sentence is harsh, everyone in this community need to take a look at what's happened here. Parents need to start taking more responsibility for ensuring that their children are making better decisions. Young adults need to wake up and realize that in this life there are very real consequences for irresponsibility and breaking the law, no matter how trivial the law may seem to be.

One last thought,

Sliding on ice or slick roadway while traveling the speed limit and hitting another car is an accident.

Wrecking a car because you're under the influence is a willful act of negligence. This was a tragedy, but it was not an accident. Accidents by definition are unavoidable. This was very much an avoidable tragedy.

The four boys were going 88 MPH as stated in the court room while nick was only going 13 MPH....Food for thought...SO if Nick really didn't stop at that stop sign why was he only going 13...?Why God's green earth were those boys going 88??? Just some thought to the situation...The Black boxes were released in court by some request

hey all you people that say the boys that were killed was just as much as their fault....YOU MAKE ME SICK!!! and for you Sooo, you obviouslly did not know jordan moeller i knew him my whole life and i dont think he would be driving 88 mph(most causious kid i've ever known)...and if nick was only going 13 miles an hour why did he still run the stop sign? does that make it legal? NO!! ill put money on it that he ran the stop sign on harrison road too....its just careless wrecklessness! I still can't believe all you people out there are blaming the parents for making a big deal out of this...YOU ALSO MAKE ME SICK!! you guys have never lost anyone that meant the world to you....i was friends with every single one of those boys my whole life and my life has been a living hell with out them ever since...which i will probably never get over......(and ive seen and talk to the parents all the time and how hurt and lost they are without there childeren...so all you people out there talking bad about the boys and parents how about you talk to the parents) so how about you think about that before you judge anybody?!

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Taurus

Friends and partners aren't behaving as you would like today. They're eager to go their own way, much to your annoyance. In order to get round this you're going to have to ask yourself some tricky questions, such as whether you're trying to control everyone's behavior or whether they're being inconsiderate in wanting to do their own thing. It's a Full Moon and a lunar eclipse, so maybe you should all release the tension by making it a super New Year's Eve celebration?
