I just hope they used a silencer when they shot it.

That way it didn't offend tree huggers.

So the DNR has changed their story. The last time they shot a cub in North St. Paul they said they had to because there were onlookers that were too close.

Now the policy is just shoot.

Guess the DNR didn't hear a Polar Bear is the mascot of North High School in NSP.

Do you suppose the dead bear was trying to mate the Snow Man at 36 and Margret?

OH my, a real threat now! Why was this bear not tranqulized and relocated? What exactly did this bear do to threaten human lives????? The reports states a bear was sighted.........Uhhhh, what a sorry bunch of DNR officials! The bear was most likely a male whom was lost and confused wandering into unknown territory, its death sentance for its territories being taken away! You should be real proud DNR! real proud! Your lack of education and knowledge with wildlife is disgusting. Your unjust action just goes to show what a bunch of nit wits you really are! You should train in Wyomming and get a real wildlife education! Sleep good tonite!

"and relocating bears doesn't usually end up being a good thing for them," he said.

What a crock. I guess shooting them is a good thing for them...Derrr
You're right, they need to train somewhere and see how relocating is done. But relocating is too much work.

The very fact that the tree hugging liberal pukes are coming out of the woodwork to wring their hands over a bear just tells us it was the correct decision on behalf of the DNR. Way to go boys! There's a bear roaming around in the southern metro too - can you dispatch this one as well?

They will sleep well, on a comfy bear skin rug with bellies full of bear meat. Need a box of tissues?

The DNR has reversed it's policy regarding what to do when ecountering wild animals in a suburban area. They now state that you should approach the animal with a wide sympathetic PETA smile on your face and ask it if it needs directions on how to get back home. After giving the wild animal directions, be sure to give it a great big friendly hug. In this particular case a bear hug is recommended.

You got it Kathy, they are not smart enough to do that as thier DNR book did not tell them how! And yes, it would be work, and thier badge might get dirty too! They should start educating themselves by picking up all the dead deer carcusses off the highways and when they graduate from that, they can move up to dealing with live animals!

Instead of hugging a tree, hug a bear. See how long you last, Mary. Find a hobby.

The DNR had to shoot this bear because once the bear has become used to humans it will present a danger... look back in the past! How many times has someone reported that their house has been broken into by a bear. Once the bear knows that it can get food it will keep coming for it... and once there is no more food it will start to become more aggresive in order to find food until one day little Jill in her yard becomes lunch. Relocation will not and has been proven to not work with bears they will find their way back to the place that they were taken from... Plus even if they would have relocated this bear chances are it would have been shot by a hunter in the fall.... So what difference does it make who bought the bullet?????

And besides, I don't want him crawling on my SUV, swimming in my pool or walking on the golf course behind my house. I was here first!
