Joan Pillera wrote: How very sad. This cat is just beautiful. I hope that Ophelia finds a loving home-she certainly deserves it. Shame on people who abuse animals. I hope that he sits in jail for awhile to think about what he has done. In the article it said he was already released from jail & not charged as of today.

To me the scary thing is that this guy might be a father one day. I hate thinking that one day his baby might cry too much that the guy would take his baby and throw him/her against the wall. Babies have ended up brain-damaged or dead from parents like this.

There is a very special place in H E Double hockey sticks for that guy. I called to see if I could adopt her but she needs to be an only cat in the house, other wise I'd be picking her up once she is ready! Someone please give her a forever home. She deserves it.

Animal Luvver wrote: The story itself is embarassing for the residents of MN. But some of the ignorant, shameless comments left in regards to this story make me really question some of the people that live in my community...Wow. Sad. I was struck by how in so many comments the hostility was directed at the person -- who had acted in a cruel way that deserves negative consequences and who is 'big enough' to fend for himself -- and was not just a bunch of vicious and gratuitous cat-hating comments. Personally I thought it was refreshing to see that the anger was directed where it belongs.

This guys deserves to lose his drivers license. He is obviously an alcoholic and he should be treated as such. Or let Bubba throw him against the wall a couple times.

psychopaths and sociopaths shouldn't have animals, and definitely should not be allowed to reproduce children . his biological child will likely be victimized by him in this manner in the future, if this man is not neutered. paid voluntary sterilization, snip snip

"who cares" sounds like a sociopath / psychopath also, very dangerous to society, and even more dangerous serving in our military. no empathy for their victims that they brutally torture, including women and children.

What? You'd make a great profiler. Stick to wiping tables. Tyler wrote: This guys deserves to lose his drivers license. He is obviously an alcoholic and he should be treated as such. Or let Bubba throw him against the wall a couple times.

WOWW wrote: As much as I hate seeing a helpless animal get tossed around as the next person, I don't think "locking him up" is the best solution. The jail are already overcrowded and if I had a choice I'd rather reserve that spot for the sex offenders and the other jack-offs of the world. Seems like the liquor is his problem so require a rehab and a big fine but save the cots and cement walls for the real harden criminals. You are wrong; people like Donhue start out by torturing small, helpless creatures and move on to raping, child molesting, and/or serial killing. Prison IS the right place for him to be contained before he does something like this to a human.

I ran across some of "your" posts a couple of weeks ago that sounded nothing like you and I was wondering what was up. Sooooooo it wasn't you? I should have known. No where near the dry sense of humor we've all grown to love :)))))

That cat deserved a "forever" home before he got his hands on her. It's weird how no one will adopt certain animals then something tragic like this happens to them & all of a sudden people come out of the woodwork. A puppy is thrown out of a car window & people are scrambling to adopt it. The Humane Society would have a pretty good turnover if they just made up tragic stories for all of their animals. Just thinking out loud....

This waste of a human life obviously belongs in prison before he harms any other animals or people - you know that if he's done this once, he's done it before and will do it again. Put him away in prison and let the other offenders he's with take care of him ... he thinks he's such a big shot harming a poor defenseless animal. I'd be more than happy to take Ophelia in with me and my other kitties ... she'd be loved and well taken care of. I already have one little kitty that's been harmed by others before my taking her in - she's doing great now, just doesn't care to be handled as much as the others. PLEASE DO NOT waste Ophelia's life by putting her down, please give her to me before such a thing is done. Fido ... you can go to the same evil place that Reece the piece is going to ... obviously you don't have anyone that cares for you :(
