Christine Crittenden for Mayor?! Think about it!

Think about it

I am not joking. We should start a campaign and all write her in. Mike Kuehn was unbelievably disrepectful last night to community members that attended the city council meeting by not letting them speak, he doesn't deserve to be mayor.
Christine Crittenden would never stand for some of the things that happen in this city. If the city manager doesn't have to live in North St Paul, why should the Mayor.
I'd love to see the looks on the faces of the Mayor, City Manager and Tom Lauth if she got all the votes. It's a "PLAN B GOVERNMENT" which makes it's own rules. So why not change this one.
I for one, would be honored to have her as the mayor of our city. She would make this cities government accountable for its decisions. Which is exactly what needs to happen.

straight from the website

Local Government
The City is governed by the Council Manager “Plan B” form of government. Under this plan, all legislative and policy making powers are vested in the Council consisting of a Mayor, elected for a 4-year term, and four Council Members, elected for 4-year terms. These officers are elected at large, and any qualified voter residing in the City is eligible to hold office.

A City Manager is responsible for administration of all policies and instructions of the City Council, and for the direction of an expert municipal staff of 64 persons.

The city is protected and served by a full-time police force of 19 officers and a 33-member volunteer Fire Department, which is fully accredited by the Fire Underwriters Grading Bureau. Ambulance service is provided by State certified ambulance and attendants.

All of these dedicated employees maintain City services at the highest possible level.

The Council may create boards and commissions to advise the Manager with respect to any municipal function or to investigate any subject of interest to the City. It has been the custom to designate individual members of the Council as representatives on these advisory boards. These Council Members work directly with the City Manager toward seeking a solution of problems which arise in their special fields.

In matters of purely local concern, the Council is empowered to act freely, providing there is no violation of State and Federal laws. Thus, the City may levy taxes for its own needs within limits established by State law and may issue bonds for any lawful purpose.

North St. Paul is served by the Ramsey County Municipal Court system presided over by elected judges and appointed staff.

I'm on board. I will draft a letter over the next several months and ask her to consider running for Mayor in the next Mayoral election Cycle.

Maybe, we can somehow get duffus recalled after his one way street election, I don't know.

I think we can write anyone in....

Why not. If Sanbergs daughter did not live here there is a doctrine of laches.

Vigilantibus non dormientibus æquitas subvenit.

Equity aids the vigilant, not the sleeping ones (that is, those who sleep on their rights).
