Anyone out there ever have trouble with bullying an the Mahtomedi schools? I attended the middle school and part of 10th grade years ago and just had to leave due to nonstop bullying for over 2 years, which was one of the most painful experiences of my entire life. I guess I'm hoping things have changed for the better. Any feedback would be appreciated!! Thank you.

i was bullied and threatened my entire ninth grade year. it got so bad that cops and school officials got involved - which only made things worse. nothing changed until i realized that they were all talk, and came back in 10th grade and matched their "talk" with my own "talk"... i acted tougher. i even challenged my aggressors to fights after school. to which no one EVER took me up on my offer. the bullying stopped. i never had to endure that again.

I graduated in the recent years from mahtomedi. I was bullied physically, emotionally and as eventually proven online during school hours. I figured out the rules protected the bully more then me and eventually found my way out of classes every day and never went to my graduation or anything else. My scares are so deep they will forever change my perspective in life. I stopped trying to work with the school as it did not protect me so I along with my family got me out and away as much as possible. What is sad is that so many others don't have that ability and the schools methods don't protect them. I have been contacted by others since that are in the same but not as severe situation.

Teenage life can be rather messy at times. In all honesty, there's always going to be ups and downs. Heartbreak and happiness. Friendship one minute; abandonment the next. All the sorrow, all that pain. . . It's not always easy to understand why. . . Especially when deep down you know you don't deserve what the world is placing on your shoulders. But, all of it (yes even the pain) IS a part of us, a stringing of noncontinuous (yet repetitively negative), life altering, chain of events that help get us closer to becoming more in tune with what internal wholeness or spiritual finding truly mean. I am very sorry for the troubles each one of you faced at both the Mahtomedi Middle and HighSchools. Being a mother of a teenage boy who's been attending Mahtomedi schools since St. Andrew preschool days, it frustrates me to hear how hard it was for you, even with strict policies in place. My son has never had any problems with bullying, so I wasn't even aware of it being such a serious issue still for the district. In fact, I've only heard the opposite from my son. He defends anyone that seems to be getting teased or picked on. That includes his own friends. If any one of them started being disrespectful towards another student,my boy let's them know they'll be dealing with him then too. Wow. . . I'm just Iin shock over this. . . Really. . .
