It might be better for you if you didn't post. You do yourself no favors -- Your challenges to "Homer" sound menacing and more than a little crazy. Furthermore, you know people judge character by spelling and grammatical errors because you started by telling people not to judge you by that. But, I think most of us would agree being functionally literate should be a requirement for a city leader. Whether you've managed a $65mil project or not, I would wonder whether you could write laws for the city, or represent the city at a regional mayors conference, or send a letter on city letterhead that wouldn't be an embarrassment.
And, while you're not expected to hold hands and sing Kumbaya (I'm assuming that's what you were talking about) you do need to know how to work with, compromise and respect others.
