Again, not even addressing the ones that get off on having nothing better to do then to stir up emotion. I already see a difference with those who care enough to call and verbally complain against the DNR division.
Peta has filed a complaint as well as the officier is under review that pulled the trigger from what I hear, and the very least it is in his record when the next animal comes alone. Please everyone who has not let your voice be hear yet respond to someone in the DNR, a magazine, newsbroadcast, somewhwere be heard!!!!! All our voices together in fact is making a difference. While some are having nothing better to do than sit here and try to push our buttons, ignore them, lets unite together and make a difference. We can't help that poor animal that was killed for no reason but we can help so next time they will think much harder before they dare to pull that trigger!!!!If we all speak loud, it may just not happen again !!!!!

I guess you are waiting for the fibernet to be installed by Hiawatha Broadband Corp.

We in North Saint Paul voted DOWN a Hiawatha Broadband fibernet installation. Wish you luck with your HIGH PRICED broadband, the bits do flow quicker on fiber BUT if you loose power and your battery happens to be dead you won't have a phone to dial 911 on.

North Saint Paul has the demographics of an old town with schools, houses and churches tightly built on relatively small lots.

Highway 36 diesects the town and the bear was about 100 yards from the highway that carries 40,000 cars a day.

North High is 1 (ONE) block from where the bear was dispatched. North High operates out of 2 buildings with kids outside walking from building to building AND athletic activity always present.

3 (TWO) churches are within 2 (TWO) blocks of where the bear was dispatched. These churches have private schools and or preschool classes OUTSIDE!

The bear was 1 (ONE) block from a DQ where kids are present all the time.

The bear was 100 yards from a state recreational trail used by famlies all the time.

Bears like all wild animals are 100% UNPREDICTABLE!!

You may wish to gamble Monticello's kids but I'll be calling the DNR re-enforceing their decision to dispatch the bear.

I grew up in Alaska and was around bears for a lot of years- A black bear is just as dangerous and unpredictable as a grizzly. Every year in Alaska black bears and grizzlies attack and kill people. EVERY YEAR! The summer of 2008 in the City of Anchorage- There were 3 attacks in one City Park alone. A 15 year old girl almost died from her injuries. She is permanantly scarred for life.
The DNR Conservation Officer was trying to make sure that all the idiots that were gathering around the tree that the bear was in were kept safe- Public safety is number 1! You people would blame the officer for not shooting it had the bear attacked someone.
