What's with the vitriol against artists? It just makes you look a rube. If you have an argument to make, then present it, but an appeal to the market is irrelevant unless you can tie the mechanisms of that market to the virtue of art.

I just don't understand why you would bother. It strikes me as a total waste of time to grouse about an event like this if it's the kind of thing that doesn't interest you, and that doesn't harm you.

Any idea how much taxpayer money in funding this Oh-so-European "art" production? I didn't see it in the article, for some strange reason.

This sounds like a wonderful event! The curmudgeons on this board fail to realize that art helps the cultivation of ideas. If we put in as much effort into the arts that we do into competitive sports, we would have far more innovation in this country. I may have a biased perspective is looking at it from the economic and business benefits, especially since our engineering R & D departments are strengthened by creative ideas. I've often thought university art and engineering departments should be heavily integrated. This unique night time "gallery" in the Twin Cities seems like something that would inspire fresh ideas in its viewers.

It harms people who are religious, and the message of peace and religion they try to spread. This crap is nothing but evil, and it is good to rid ourselves of evil. It is you freaks that put religious items in jars of urine and call it art. We can speak our minds on this, and we will. Back at you, sport. Those who disagree with you are equally free to speak our minds. Why is it evil, BTW? Are you so afraid of the boogie man that anything more complex than a Chick tract sends you into a fit? PS YOU are spreading a message of peace? Give me a break.

Javier wrote: <quoted text> I personally am not spreading a message of peace No kidding. A spewing-forth of bile-filled insanity is not "peace." "chick tract"? What the hell is that? Something YOU know about but I don't that makes you feel "intellectual"? LMFAO! It is amazing how arrogant you as sholes are but you have nothing above even aquatic life forms. You're dirt. You're nothing... yet you are proud of it. Good luck with that, Mr. Loafer lightener. "Chick tracts" are pretty well known, ace. I suggest you look them up (you and Jack have a lot in common) before the voices in your head tell you it's time to get off the computer and go outside and rant on the street-corner (busy little fellow, aren't you?).

Javier wrote: <quoted text> What?? shut the f---k up! Your art-speak makes you look like the arrogant as ss all you freaks really are. I'm not an artist and it wasn't art-speak? Also, it doesn't speak very highly of you if you have to resort to name called and swearing to get a message across. Again, if you have an argument, present it. Haven't seen one yet, Javier.
