When will Woonsocket put an end to the Drug and Gang related violence in the city? This shooting according to words of the victims friends is gang related, by the gang called as the Outfitters. We need to all work together as neighbors to make the stand that this will not be tolerated. This is another sad ending to a 17 year old young mans life that should have not happened. Good Parenting is also needed across the whole country. If we as parents know what our child is doing we need to be a strong role model, giving positive influence in their lives.

I recently lost my younger brother to murder in Dec 2007. These punks in the streets have so much anger/jealousy within them they don't know how to deal with it. When the kill another human being, they don't realize that they are also killing the other families. My young children are all in counseling to due the loss of my brother. We just had a march in Providence this pass Sunday to prevent violence and men killing other men. If you are so angry get HELP!!!! Join the ARMY!!! Talk to someone who can assist you. Each time another person is murdered/stabbed I say a prayer for them and the person who committed the crime because I understand their pain/loss. We are losing to many young men due to violence, and parents are without their children! But karma will come and get you!!

(Woonsocket) I think a large issue with these people is their lack of faith in the police. They listen to rap music about "f*** the "jakes", etc and feel as though they are being "harrassed" when they are stopped in their car even for looking suspicious. But who are the first people that are called when some street rat gets shot....THE POLICE!. The police are in the city, I see them all the time. Its not harassment, its called being PROACTIVE!!!. The constitution defines law and the police enforce it. Who here is in the wrong, besides those breaking the law. Its time for parents to teach their kids to respect the police and not to defy them and break the law. Just to reiterate..."good parenting" is the major issue

to be honest... i don't care if these punks, gansters, drug dealers want to kill each other... why does society even need them?? they don't contribute anything to society... i have an idea... lets just put all of them together on an island and have them duke it out between themselves... once and for all... i've lived in providence my entire life, in the same house for 20 years and i've seen my neighborhood get "infected" by these people... screw them all!

My class tolerated the presence of Juan Diaz, 24, the alleged Pawtucket murder suspect, in class about eight years ago. At best, Diaz seemed ornery. At worst, Diaz possessed extremely terrifying eyes. Hope he has a nice, long meditation session at the Adult Correctional Institution.

I'm really sick of the violence, drugs and corruption in Woonsocket. I'ts bad enough that you have look at the filth in the streets and delapated buildings and now more than ever look over your shoulder when you walk the streets. These kids need supervision. Teach them respect. Stop ignoring these problems. The community needs to come together and clean up Woonsocket. How about implementing a curfew like in Milford Ma. They take it seriously. Kids in Woonsocket roam the street all night long with little or no respect for anyone. They scream, swear, throw objects to be destructive. Where are their parents. Don't they care. Do they want this kind of tragedy to hit their family? I doubt it. Woonsocket Pay Attention and Take Responsibily. Be the nosey neighbor and report what is wrong. You do know right from wrong don't you?

A logical first step would definitely be the curfew. It would allow a sweep of the delinquent punks still trying to buck the law.

One part of the problem is lack of discipline, which starts at home. Sure, there are many from broken homes with no positive outlets. How about more work towards community centers that offer programs, sports, etc. later into the evening?

When the situation at home is sometimes worse than on the street, kids need options.

move? deal with it? you must be a crackhead! why should law abiding citizens who work hard to make a living, want to live in nice home, raise their kids in a nice neighborhood have to change their ways to "deal" or "move away" so that they can allow all these gangbangers, crackheads, scum of society to take over their neighborhoods one street at a time... F*** it being scared of foreign terrorsim, al qaeda or whoever... we have our own psychos who are running around with guns shooting up people and causing trouble closer to home... if anyone else disagree with this... speak up now!

For real Woonsocket isnt what you outsiders think it is yeah we have violence and killings but have you looked at the rest of the world??? The teen killed in woonsocket was my friend from school...its very very sad to see his life taken at only 17...Some kids just choose the wrong path too go down and there really isnt much a parent can do when things are already wrong...Take a step back and respect Brandon Smith's family and friends and think about what you say...cause you dont know a thing!

In a way you're wrong! People who want to live like animals deserve to be treated like animals and good honest citizens shouldn't have to pick up and move because of low-life scumbags!

Thank You!! AMEN!! and just 8:30 tonight there was late breaking news of gunfire down my street... check it out... corner of camden and chad brown... I remember years ago when I was younger and how I used to be able to walk down the street to the park and play soccer until sundown... I don't dare walk the streets around my neighborhood now after dark... too many psychos, hoodlums out there... if tonight's event turns out to be gang related or something stupid like that be sure to hear back from me...

I agree that Nicole must be a crackhead or something. It is unbelievable that someone would say "deal with it or move away". If that's her way of thinking then why doesn't she just overdose and kill herself and get it over with?
