Sad sad story. Some people should not be aloud to have children and she should NOT EVER be able to get that baby again. There are plenty of good people who can't have children, whom I'm sure whould love to have this child.

I think people like this the government should sterilize. being a mom is a privilege not a right. You have your right to drive taking away for minor offenses. Giving birth to an addicted baby or abandoning a baby- sterilize that a$$. now that would save tax payer money and get rid of some need for abortions. if you get clean, too bad, you had your chance and scared your children for life so you too must pay the consequence. just a thought KSOpinion wrote: So you are saying, hard working Americans, who pay their taxes, should now fund meth addicts abortions? That's a joke right? How about they keep their legs closed. Or better yet. Instead of me paying for abortions, how about they get her clean. I'm sorry, but this health care bill is a joke. I work hard for my money- too hard to see it go out the door without my say. I am all about helping others out. But the systems need to be monitored better, people use the system and now I am only funding it more. I'm glad this baby is alive and well, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for every drug addict or slutty woman's abortion. <quoted text>

People should really have to pass a common knowledge test before they breed.

I can't say the meth addicted mother did the right thing but she tried. She loved her child enough not to Abort it, she then left the child in the care of someone else. Note the article did say the baby was healthy, clean and taken care of even if the home wasn't. Neither of these women may have been the best care givers for this child but give them a break neither we're abusing the child and they were trying.
As for you people saying they should be sterilized and the like that option should NEVER BE PUT IN THE GOVERMENTS HANDs, put the shoe on the other foot. Think if your sister, daughter, mother fell into addiction and the government made this choice for them. People do/can get clean, not all of them but some and its our choice as people to have control of our bodies.

The baby was probably much better off with Alma than the biological mother. Alma is a good person, and a good mother. Are you kidding me?!!!....He (the baby) is lucky to be away from the mother and the DRUG DEALER that you are calling a good person. Alma is a freakin DRUG DEALER!!!. I don't know what its like to have an addiction because I don't take drugs you idiot, and good mothers dont DEAL DRUGS!!! I can tell by your idiotic post that you need to stay away from the drugs that Alma is obviously supplying you with....

People do/can get clean, not all of them but some and its our choice as people to have control of our bodies. The mother didn't TRY!!! Trying would've been taking the baby to a place where it could've been taken care of properly. just because it wasn't dirty and unkept "YET", it's only a matter of time before the child would've been abused in some form or another... the baby wasn't there long enough (thank God). These people are drug dealers and users. I'm 43 years old and I choose not to take drugs. If someone in my family decides to get hooked on drugs the family would take care of any children affected by the addiction not allow it to be taken to a drug infested house to be cared for by the same person who got the mother strung-out in the first place. So NO BREAKS!!!! for these idiot drug users and dealers...

Meth is a lame ass excuse for a lazy @ss person...This lady had no remorse for her child...she said it was better off with the drug dealer..It..as if the child was a notebook or some pens...her being hooked on meth is just a lame ass excuse for her actions so when she "cleans-up" and after about 2 month of treatment she'll have her child again and probaly have another so in a few year she could trade them off for what next..oxys..methadone...coke.. I don't think she should ever get the right to hold her child again let alone care for her daughter..

You know I happen to know Alma also, I don't agree with you that she is a good person or a good mother....you probably are a user yourself to be saying such stupid things but what kind of a mother does drugs in the home while your children are their, and by the way I happen to know from a close source of Alma's that she beat her oldest son and sent him to the hospital, but her son didn't say that his mother beat him because he didn't want her to get in trouble. Now that state has custody of her boys she should get her life in order and get herself to a rehab center and get her boys back...But knowing Alma the drugs come first in her life and always have...and as for the other meth addict mother she should have taken her baby to the state if she couldn't care for her son and left him with people that would watch for his well being..PUT THEM BOTH IN JAIL AND LET THEM DO THEIR TIME!!!!!!! none wrote: I know this woman, and the baby was most likely very well cared for.
