Meth Addicted Mother Denies Exchanging Baby for Drugs

Full story: Fox13Now

Going on a tip that a baby was being held by a drug dealer, police raided a North Salt Lake residence to find the nine-month-old baby that they believed was traded as payment for methamphetemine by the mother.

I know this woman, and the baby was most likely very well cared for. You people don't understand what it is like to have an addiction to meth. The baby was probably much better off with Alma than the biological mother. Alma is a good person, and a good mother.

There are so many people out there they want to raise and care for children and can't have children and then there are women out there having children that shouldn't and keeping them and leaving them with drug dealers or selling them like that woman in North Carolina. It makes it very difficult to believe that there is a plan for humanity.

My husband & I have a beautiful 10 y/o girl. We tried for years to have another child (I even went on fertility drugs for a period of time) but were unsuccessful. We then decided that we should consider ourselves lucky to have the wonderful girl that we have. Like you said there are many that can't have children, and then you have these dirtbags "spitting" them out right & left, doing drugs and living off the taxpayers. It makes me sick.

I can't understand these horrible creatures who call themselves mothers. Drugs are so much more important than thier precious children. It makes me sick.

Unfortunately, to some...children are a person's paycheck. I was my mother's paycheck for 18 years. When she found out she would lose her funds at 18, she kicked me out! My friend, as a child, was sold for drugs! It's not a surprise to me! It happens more than we know!:( THANKFULLY, I met a great person who led me out of this lifestyle so I'm not a product of my environment! Hopefully this child will have a chance, too!

this is why we need to fund abortions. So that way a mother who is to poor to pay for an expensive abortion can now have that option that is only afforded to the well-off. We need abortion funded in the public option.

So you are saying, hard working Americans, who pay their taxes, should now fund meth addicts abortions? That's a joke right? How about they keep their legs closed. Or better yet. Instead of me paying for abortions, how about they get her clean. I'm sorry, but this health care bill is a joke. I work hard for my money- too hard to see it go out the door without my say. I am all about helping others out. But the systems need to be monitored better, people use the system and now I am only funding it more. I'm glad this baby is alive and well, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for every drug addict or slutty woman's abortion.

The way I see it, instead of abortions for these women who cannot keep their legs closed, how about getting their tubes tied? Or even better removing their reproductive organs completely? Why kill an innocent child who did not ask to be conceived? I am happy to know this child was well cared for, it could have ended up even worse, but still the mother is just flat out stupid and sick. She has an addiction and those of you who have addictions to alcohol, smoking, and over eating must understand its hard to kick any type of addiction. Yes, she should have given the baby over to the state and explained her situation, it would be even better if she loved her child enough to get the help she needed to be a good mother and take good care of her baby. But, she did not. I say charge her as required by law and remove her ability to have children, then, charge the other woman who kept the baby as well, remove her children she may have from the home, and then find a loving home for this precious baby boy. Its very sad to know that women who do not care about their children and kill them or abandon them or sell them are given this most precious gift, while those who want to have a baby cannot. I am blessed with one child and have not had the ability to have anymore so far. I would give anything to have another child. So for those who are blessed, think twice and look at that precious gift you were given and be thankful and make every effort to stand and be a great parent.

what ever the case, at least she cared for the baby. This story could be much sadder. That baby was most likley better off with Alma than the Meth Head. Hope mom gets a good prison sentence
