The MYTH is about the Unemployment Rate falling.

This is how BLS manipulated the numberts

1http://www.bls.gov/ces/cespre lbmk.htm

In accordance with usual practice, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is announcing the preliminary estimate of the upcoming annual benchmark revision to the establishment survey employment series. The final benchmark revision will be issued on February 1, 2013, with the publication of the January 2013 Employment Situation news release.
The preliminary estimate of the benchmark revision indicates an upward adjustment to March 2012 Total nonfarm employment of 386,000 (0.3 percent).
-----

The BLS also adjusted upwards the number of American Jobs for August and September

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.ht...

The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for July was revised from +141,000 to +181,000, and the change for August was revised from +96,000 to +142,000.
----------

The BOTTOM LINE is that the BLS made revisions UPWARD amounting to 472,000 new jobs and that was what led to the drop in the Unemployment Rate.

And what makes the jobs report worse, from the same BLS source.

"The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons (sometimes referred to as involuntary part-time workers) rose from 8.0 million in August to 8.6 million in September."

That is tight 600,000 Americans went from full-time to part time work.
