An Aurora man who had sexual contact with an underage girl has been sentenced to eight years in prison, Kane County prosecutors said today.
Jose M. Ruiz-Ramirez, 33, of the 300 block of North Ohio Street, pleaded guilty last week to one count of criminal sexual assault, which is a Class One felony punishable by a four to 15 year prison sentence.
Prosecutors alleged that between July 1 and Nov. 30, 2011, he had sexual contact at least 10 times with the victim at his residence. At the time, the teenage girl was under 18, authorities said.
Under the law, Ruiz-Ramirez must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence. He was granted credit for the 322 days he spent in custody before his plea deal was completed. He also must register for life on the state sex offender list.

A routine traffic stop in Naperville Tuesday turned into a nearly $1 million drug bust, according to police.
A K-9 officer stopped a pickup truck near North Aurora Road and Route 59 about 12:25 p.m. Tuesday and became suspicious of its occupants, police said. The police dog, Sabek, alerted the officer to the presence of drugs and a subsequent search turned up about 19 pounds of methamphetamine in the bed of the truck.
Police said the street value of the drugs is about $984,790.
In a news release, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin called it “by far the largest methamphetamine bust we have ever had in Dupage County.”
Jesus A. Rubio, 25, and Edgardo Y. Rodriguez-Sanchez, 20, both from the 4200 block of NE 14th Street, Des Moines, Iowa, were charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and methamphetamine trafficking, according to court records. Rubio also faces traffic violations of operating a vehicle while using an electronic communication device, following too closely, operating an uninsured vehicle and defective car window.
Judge Elizabeth Sexton set bond today at $1 million and the men will have to prove it was raised legally.

Just reporting happenings in Illinois
Cicero police arrested and charged a member of the Latin Kings Street gang today after he harassed and then stalked a female election volunteer at a local polling place, police said.
Alfredo Gonzalez, 55, an alleged gang member, was charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly "sexually" threatened a female poll worker this morning, Cicero officials said.
The 41-year-old woman was handing out "thank you" cards to voters at a polling place at the Lincoln School, 3601 S. 61st Ave, when Gonzalez, began sexually threatening her, according to police.
Cicero Police said that Gonzalez, an alleged Latin King street gang member, was working on the election campaign of candidate Juan Ochoa, according to a press released issued by Cicero officials.
The woman said she left to go to another polling place at the Freshman Center at 1801 S. 55th Ave, to “get away from Gonzalez.” But she was again confronted by Gonzalez and another known Latin King street gang leader, and several male associates.
Cicero Gang Crimes Police Supt. Jerry Chlada said disorderly conduct charges were filed against Gonzalez, who has a court appearance set for Dec. 4 at the Maywood Court House
